Step 1) Buy LG V30 on eBay for $50 in flawless condition

Step 2) Root it and install Android 11 on it

Step 3) Enjoy all the features it has that are better than the Nord N200

Step 4) Instead of buying a yearly plan for ~$15/month through an MVNO, pay T-Mobile ludicrous amounts for their garbage plans so you can get a statement credit and a new Oneplus Nord N200.

Hard pass.

You'll still have to pay shipping and tax on the new phone. Comes out to $20-$30 depending on your sales tax. Just FYI

Got 4 of these as back ups for the grands. 3 are now in use. I plan on getting 2 more because when they get broken, the new backs ups will be ready to go.

For those who want a bigger screen, a similar free phone promotion also applies to the REVVL V+ 5G. See details below.

The Nord N20 just came out. It seems like a better phone than the N200. If people are willing to wait a few months T-Mobile might offer a similar deal to the N20 deal. Right now they offering it free through bill credits but only if you open up a new line.
Then again wait for N30?

Agreed. That's what I've been using it for from the last deal. My kids have yet to break one though. My younger daughter almost broke the screen but seems like the screen protector saved it. So the ones we got from last year are still going strong. And even if they do break it, I won't feel bad too much about since it only cost me taxes, shipping and the price of the $10 Tracfone I traded-in last year.

If you have Magenta Max, note that you can currently trade in the OnePlus N200 for the OP10 and OP9 devices and get $600 trade-in value (no AAL required, but MagentaMax required). For the OP N200s I got last year, I actually plan to trade-in for the OP9 and then use the OP9 to trade it in for an iPhone 13/14 later in the year when the next iPhone promo is available without an AAL requirement. This might be too many hoops for others but figured I'd share in case you're interested in looking into it.
If I am to take advantage of this "upward" trade in, do I have to pay off the phone before reading in? Or I can just hand it over for the new phone when T-Mobile is still crediting me?

So you signed 4 2-year contracts, one for each line, for what is essentially a plastic junk phone? It's amazing what goes on inside the mind of a T-Mobile ̶v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶ customer

This worked well for me. I had a random line not in use. They gave me the phone free and $9 credit for two years. So I'm saving $9/mo

I live in the sticks. . .and get 100Mbps+. and again, pay less than any unlimited MVNO plan out there. And get to grab these phone deals, as well as flagship phone deals as well. Lol, if you take my logic, you would have a qualifying trade in phone waiting to trade. . .

Really? You have never heard of Visible? Easy referrals to get $5. a month service with coverage and data speeds much better than T-Slo.

If you're planning to stay more than 2 years anyway, it's no hardship. A lot folks have several free lines so it's not costing them to keep them open, why not get a free phone along the way?

If you don't have T-Mobile service nor plan to stay with T-Mobile for the next 2 years, then this will not make sense for you.

Yes, I've heard of Visible. Have 2 lines getting referrals right now. I pay so little more on TMO than that $5 after getting referral rate on Visible, that it's not worth my time, and not really a comparison, as the $5 you mention requires referrals each month, and quite honestly if I got one TMO referral total each my bill would be $0.

T-mo is better than Visible everywhere I visit on a daily basis, by 5-10X speed long shot here. Have 9 lines on Magenta Max that get perks like flagship phones and now home internet for $30 a month no tax router and modem included (which I get 200-300+ Mbps on), and 50% YTTV for the next year and Netflix 4K Premium for just $5 a month.

I also always have 1 or 2 Visible phones running referral system. Mainly a just in case phone, for when traveling, or for low bandwidth hotspot, or gps in the car, sometimes trade one out for Port in deal somewhere, then bring it back with another port in deal. . .

So yeah, I understand Visible. And that I pay less in the end with TMO,

Wow, where do you live that T-Mo has better coverage? I travel quite a bit from California to our Mid West States and T-Mo has poor coverage in rural and why my Visible phone goes. Here in N California, most people in the foothills and mountains use Verizon and At&t due to strong coverage.

Texas. TMO just has better signal where I go daily here. Part over congestion on VZW, part slow 5G TMO working pretty good in comparison.'

But I do have one of those $5 visible phones usually just in case. Picked up 2 last week with the free speaker/$150 iPX deal. i can find $5 value in having 2 different networks. I just don't want to go through the effort of 12 referrals X 9 lines a year and all the extra accounts and worrying etc. And if I miss just 2 out of those 108 referrals, TMO is cheaper for me lol.
