oh man it's just what I need, but these are pretty expensive
Honestly, I bought the Harbor Freight set of these when I was installing fire sprinklers. I did that for 5 years, the sockets held up just fine, it was the adapters that kept breaking. Impact driver to 1/2" drive adapter

How do the milwaukee impact rated sockets and accessories compare to Tekton? I went with Tekton for my 1/2" stuff about 6 years ago, but I have a feeling that I'll end up needing a 3/8" set at some point. As of this week, I'm going down the team red rabbithole.
Really happy with the value, quality, and compact storage solutions that comes with the Tekton.

Cheap sockets work just as well as expensive sockets for most applications. In practice the cheap sockets are often stronger as they overbuild the wall thickness to compensate for worse metal and heat treatments. The advantage to expensive sockets are that, in general, expensive reputable sockets have thinner walls. This usually doesn't matter, but sometimes it does.
Some sizes vary, but the 1/2" impact sets from Harbor Freight are only $20 and have worked fine for me. HF will also replace a broken socket should it occur, so the price savings seems worth it for me. Quality is definitely not on par with pro level such as Snap-On, Mac, or Cornwell, but I'll definitely put a HF set up against Milwaukee from Home Depot at only 30% of the price.

No, it has a plastic rack with knobs to put the sockets. It's not great and basically something I threw away as soon as possible. I have the hf deeps in metric and the shallows in Sae. My advice would be to get the deeps, they're labeled more clearly. Vs the shallows have barely legible writing on a matte surface. No issue with performance though. Have pushed them moderately hard.

20mm is not a common size, so manufacturers saved cost by not including it.

I was able to get Home Depot to price match it to get free delivery.
