I would avoid Amazon due to the high chance of receiving a counterfeit filter. I would order from Lowes or Samsung. Samsung is offering the same discount.

Further down on the Samsung page it tells you how to identify counterfeits.

Dang, I would return that fridge if I could. Absolutely no reason to support manufacturers that do this.

I use the generic Water drop plus filters at 1/3 the price. Works well.

Bought three filters from Lowes, redeemed Discover cashback ($68 in rewards for $80 eGC). So all in all, great deal and don't have to worry about Amazon fakes. $69 w/ tax for 3. Thanks OP!!

I have never replaced a water filter in the 12 years I have owned fridges. Just reset the filter warning and carry on.
10 years without changing mine, water still crystal clear and taste great

FYI, I just received a 2 pack of these same filters from Amazon and there is no authentication tag on them like the Samsung website says there should be.

EDIT: There is indeed a tag. You have to take the cellophane off first. My bad!

Shudder to think what would happen if I drank normal tap water, like a normal person. Probably shortens my lifespan on average of 1.2 seconds.
Eww, clearly you have burned off your taste buds

Turn down the PSI that is going to the unit. I read it buried on the Samsung support forum.

I have the Samsung fridge with the TV in the door and have never had any issues over the past 3 years. Knock on wood. The higher pressure sprays the water stream all around the ice unit when it fills up and turning the pressure way down you don't get as much blow by spray.

This is a buy price for this filter. I got my last one direct from Samsung when they had it for $26 for one day a month ago. There is a decoder viewer on the package to ensure you got an authentic filter. This is a no brainer versus generic and the horror stories with ice makers clogging/no real filtering with the alternative filters.
My Samsung fridge icemaker froze up a few months after warranty and they wouldn't fix it without charging. I went 18 months without fixing it and gave in, to have someone repair it. There ended up being a recall and the tech replaced the motherboard for free. It's been working great for over a year now. Knock on wood.....

FWIW I have been using generic filter replacements for my Samsung fridge ($38 for 3 filters) for the past year or so and they have been working well so far.

Might want to consider those if you want to save yourself a ton of money in the long run.

I've been using those as well. Specifically the Waterdrop brand. I've noticed a very faint off-smell when using them, but the taste is fine.

Just ordered one of these Samsung ones, just to do a comparison and see if that smell is from the much cheaper filter.

Just buy from lowes, and stack with the target gc promo (buy 1 get 1 25 off and there is one can be redeemed at lowes). And you are welcome Wink

Do you have a link to the recall details?

Just snagged the HAF-QIN/EXP filter from the samsung site directly for $25 for the 1 pack. Incase anyone is looking for other filters.

Yes, make sure to check your model number! OP is for HAF-CIN but mine takes HAF-QIN. In for two for $25 each on Samsung's site.

FYI: See this group on Facebook: SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR RECALL U.S.A. NOW It has over 100,000 members. I had my refrigerator's icemaker replaced after it stopped working and the service tech said I should use only Samsung filters after using generic ones for several years. I switched to a genuine Samsung filter and so far, so good.

How do you turn down the PSI? I'm having a problem with the ice maker clogging.

It's showing $25 for me, even with one time purchase, at Samsung. Not sure how to get it for $20.
