Got this a couple months back for $199, all the tools work great, the oscilating tool is a much better design than the non-brushless version

This is a pretty good collection of brushless tools. I got a similar set (4 tools plus a free tool) but with slightly bigger batteries 2 years ago for $190.

Is this the same deal that is re-posted almost weekly? SD must be getting some good kickback cash on this one.

Good deal here for the compact and brushless. If you are looking for a starter set that might get intermediate use, this looks good.

Meh. Puny batteries. No circular saw. Cheap light is one of the "tools."

If starting out, I would sink money into the ongoing m12 deals instead of this set. Will end up about the same cost but with lighter, more ergonomic, and better quality tools, and more batteries.

Even some of the m18 deals or Rigid deals are decently priced now, so can go that route too if wanting to go 18v instead of 12v.

Yup. Looks like HD stopped the deal for almost one whole day before restarting it:

But… a much, much, smaller arsenal of tools to choose from.

For me the value in Ryobi isn't just the price point, it's the vast array of tools available. From heat guns to pressure washers, fans and vacuums, planers and pneumatic nailers, glue guns and dremels… if a battery power tool exists, it's in Ryobi's 18v line.

I've got an old house with very few outlets. I LOVE being able to work without extension cords and resetting clocks.

Search on this site:

Milwaukee m12

Milwaukee m18

Rigid

Dewalt 20v

Sort by date to find current deals.

You can do the HD hacks to get pricing down, just read the older threads if you don't know how it is done, as it has been explained thousands of times here over the years, and repeated ad nauseum in nearly every Home Depot thread.

You can also set deal alerts for specific tools if you wish to be notified of the hot deals being posted.

Also set a reminder for Father's Day, as typically some good tool deals surface around that time too.
