I'm currently using the Amazon CB for groceries, since it expires before this one… Seeing the negative posts about Kroger and Publix are worrisome, though. So, what's a US Supermarket in the eyes of AMEX?

U.S. Supermarkets

To earn additional rewards on supermarket purchases, the supermarket must be located in the U.S.

A supermarket offers a wide variety of food and household products such as meat, fresh produce, dairy, canned and packaged goods, household cleaners, pharmacy products and pet supplies.

(Superstores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, and meal-kit delivery services are NOT considered supermarkets.)

Examples of merchants* that accept the Card and where you can earn additional rewards include:

ALDI
FreshDirect
Gelson's
Hy-Vee
Kings Food Markets
Meijer
ShopRite
Smart & Final
Stop & Shop
Trader Joe's
Vons
Whole Foods
Winn-Dixie
*This is not a complete list.

Examples of merchants where you will NOT earn additional rewards include:

Specialty stores (e.g., bakeries, butchers, cheese shops, fish markets, liquor stores, wine shops, and other specialty food stores)
Superstores (e.g., Amazon, Target and Walmart)
Warehouse clubs (e.g., BJ's Club)
Convenience stores (e.g., 7Eleven)
Meal-kit delivery services (e.g., Blue Apron, Freshly, and Hello Fresh)
Yet someone said a rep said Meijer didn't count either. Kroger isn't on the list (obviously says not a complete list), but Kroger is categorized as a US Supermarket for my Delta Amex rewards. I've been fighting the reps for my Hulu credit so I wanted to get that fixed before trying to fight this.

Anyone get anything for Kroger yet? I just spent over $500 there and no notification from Amex.

Same question if anyone got credit. I feel like there is some issue this time with this offer because I haven't seen any one posting that it worked

Apparently there is no such thing as a "U.S. Supermarket". SMH

After chatting with them a couple times, I'm finally getting the credit. Even though I should be able to get more on both our cards, I'm done wasting my time on this. I shouldn't have to fight that a grocery store is the same thing as a "supermarket". Guess they don't want me to shift some of my spending to my Amex card.

After getting one credit, my wife and I haven't received any subsequent credits on our cards. Amex chat is saying to wait 90 days.

It seems to me Amex offers credits that do not come from 3rd paeties are all taking longer to post. I wonder if Amex is having some financial problem so they are delaying the posting to help cashflow.

Which supermarket did you get the credit from? I shopped at Giant a few weeks ago and haven't gotten any credit.

It was a small Asian grocer. Since then we've shopped at Trader Joe's a couple of times but no credit.

I ended up getting the full $30 for a single $500 transaction at Kroger, BUT cumulative transactions under $50 prior to that didn't count, so make sure you hit at least $50 each time.

Thanks for sharing. I got that one posted today. It took 12 days which was quite long.
Before this one it used to take no more than 8 days.
But at least it was posted within 1 month, already faster than several other competitors such as Citi.

I finally got an e-mail notification for the $5 off Suprmarket deal after shopping at Kroger yesterday. It seems to me not every transaction coded as "supermarket" is automatically considered "US Supermarket" in this deal. But I suspect Kroger, Safeway and their brands would be safe bets. Also, my transaction yesterday was only $40 so it does not need to be over $50 per transaction.
