It allows you to reach at an offset 30 degree angle so that you can feel your way to the needed position much faster - great for blind or difficult areas to reach or if the bolt or screw is close to an obstruction on one side."
The ball end helps you to quickly strip out the fasteners by greatly reducing the contact area between the tool and the bolt or screw.
But, if you can't get directly straight onto the bolt or screw, then you might need to resort to a ball end which allows you to stick it in at a bit of an angle.
Unless I know that something's not going to be really tight, I avoid using a ball end unless it is the only available option.
Most stuff I find will just not be available for pickup. I think WM is trying to force people to pay for WM+. Personally, I think it may be costing them business. Especially with you can get the same thing, at same price from Amazon, or ebay. With free shipping. I do have Prime, but I certainly can't afford to also pay for WM+, when, most times, Amazon is same price.

like most walmart hand tool deals, i suspect nothing b&m - if you find you might have to do store pickup as opposed to taking to the checkout yourself https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=455200312
This is a great deal, but doesn't Walmart charge $5.99 now for pickup orders less than $35? I just placed an order over $35 a few days ago, but not everything could be shipped and I noticed they added a $5.99 fee to my pickup order! I just never picked it up and it auto canceled, but WTF!?

I ordered these last time they were on sale and I'm pretty happy with them. They arrived with the plastic piece that connects the metric set to the american set cracked, but I just removed the slider and each holder is still fine. The keys themselves are nice, especially the ball end. I'm kind of thinking about ordering another set, but I really don't need another set, I've got a fair collection of allen keys finally, but....... I think I might order another set.

Thanks! I've been using standard hex keys without a ball like a sucker! Guess I'll have to order a set.
I've never used hex keys with a ball end before. What is the value to the ball end?

But, if you can't get directly straight onto the bolt or screw, then you might need to resort to a ball end which allows you to stick it in at a bit of an angle.
Unless I know that something's not going to be really tight, I avoid using a ball end unless it is the only available option.

If you do not have direct (aka straight) access, you can angle to the side and still use these.
