Bought the 65" one during last black Friday and all HDMI ports are already broken/defected.

These have been sitting on the ocean on container ships for months and months and months during the supply chain cargo container issues we had for the last year and the salt in the air corrodes all of the cheap reactive metals that make up the HDMI Port connectors and most of the other connectors that are made out of sheet metals that corrode extremely fast with the high salt concentration in the air which they were exposed to for months and months and months on end. Most electronics that were sitting in cargo container ships on the ocean are ticking time bombs for the future and problems you will have due to corrosion of micro metal connections.

Wouldn't multiple layers of packaging defeat this?

I'm really curious to know, for what your kid loves about the plasma for games...

I'm seriously wondering this... What games they are playing and what huge difference a plasma would make...

I mean I think we're past the plasma vs whatever now right? RIGHT? I can't believe there's still plasma enthusiasts that would exist, they still make these things?
The set I was referring to was a TCL 55" Class 4K UHD HDR LED Roku Smart TV 4 Series 55S20. He says there is no lag, the TV is bright, and the colors are good. When we had his console on a plasma, it retained some of the image if a game had a persistent interface. I think you'd have trouble finding a plasma set right now (I think I have three scattered around the house).

What the hell SD? The last thing I needed was another TV! I told myself yesterday that if they were still in stock today, I may bite. I thought for sure they would be out of stock by this morning, yet there is a store near me that has several. In for one...

My last Element TV lasted a long time. Got it Black Friday 2013, no issues until 2021 when the screen would occasionally flicker. It's still usable though. Just my experience.

Considering buying this and hedging it with a 3 year All-State TV Protection for $59 to make sure I don't get a lemon. TV has a one-year limited warranty but I don't know what that protects. Thoughts on whether the extra warranty is worth it?

Does this TV force you to use the Roku OS or connect to wi-fi at all? I want to use this as a dumb TV and just use my Chromecast, but this is very tempting.

can you get the TV protection on the same order? I'm surprised it was not offered when you put the TV on the shopping cart, at least off the Target android app, I didn't see it.
NVM: Yeah I see it clearly off the webpage on my PC.

Mine did give me the option in the app. I haven't picked it up, but after reading these comments and the reviews I'm thinking of buying the protection plan as well.
