Bought the 65" one during last black Friday and all HDMI ports are already broken/defected.

These have been sitting on the ocean on container ships for months and months and months during the supply chain cargo container issues we had for the last year and the salt in the air corrodes all of the cheap reactive metals that make up the HDMI Port connectors and most of the other connectors that are made out of sheet metals that corrode extremely fast with the high salt concentration in the air which they were exposed to for months and months and months on end. Most electronics that were sitting in cargo container ships on the ocean are ticking time bombs for the future and problems you will have due to corrosion of micro metal connections.

Wouldn't multiple layers of packaging defeat this?

Mine did give me the option in the app. I haven't picked it up, but after reading these comments and the reviews I'm thinking of buying the protection plan as well.

Roku TV is spyware.
Totally. I can't afford letting people know what I watch.

Does anyone know how many watts this uses? I tried to do the math based on the energy star label but I probably got it wrong, comes out to 200w, seems high.

Does this TV force you to use the Roku OS or connect to wi-fi at all? I want to use this as a dumb TV and just use my Chromecast, but this is very tempting.
You have to have a Roku account to update it but there was an option to bypass the internet connection at setup.

I bought this for $300 during black friday. Very fragile TV! I bought one, opened it up and the screen was severely cracked, took it back. I managed to snag the last one at a different Target, they had a ton of returns with broken screens (per the kid that brought it out). Second one was fine, its a good TV for the price. Not the snappiest when browsing through the apps (still faster than 1st gen my fire stick), not the best sound but I didn't have to buy a sound bar. I usually power down once a month because it does lag after a while.

Damnit, just did the 65" TCL for $398 at Walmart a week ago and already got rid of the packaging... Great deal!
Could be wrong but I don't think Walmart requires packaging for returns

Decided to keep the 65" for the upstairs living room and buy the 70" for the basement playroom we're building. It's still probably a couple months out, but this is a great deal and the kids aren't going to care about picture quality. On the plus side, the wall where it's going to be hung is still open so I can add electric/network and some extra bracing behind the TV. :-)

Exactly WHY a lot of Televisions and other electronic components inside devices fail.
Read about it on Wikipedia if you think it's hog wash.
This test has nothing to do with shipping conditions. This is to test corrosiveness resistance in general not having to do with shipping.
