The deck has a lifetime warranty though. I believe EGO uses a plastic deck as well, and I've had no issues with that for 3 or 4 years now.

Not to mention, a metal deck will eventually rust. My 15 year old Crastman I replaced had a few holes in the deck. I think these plastic decks will outlive the mowers.

I have a pretty small lawn I dont really need self propel and wish they had more push mower options. The thing with this mower is that you NEED both batteries...its a good option if you hae that 3/4 acre lawn. I was hoping to get this and be able to sell an extra battery but this thing with only 1 battery would be a headache.

I received this email too. Anytime I see something like that, I get nervous about cancelations.

In my case it doesn't bother me. I have a riding lawn mower and a self-propelled one. I bought this one for the kids since it's easier to start than the gas mower and lighter.

95%+ of the time plastic is going to outlast the metal and it's obvious why.

If you hit something with a plastic deck there's a chance it'll crack or bend and flex back OR it'll just move the object. A metal one is going to do any of those things except for giving in and back, it'll just dent. On top of it it's going to oxidize, guaranteed.

Plastic will last basically forever, metal will lose it's paint over time and oxidize. That's obvious.

I bought it and got a confirmation saying it could take 8 days to ship, but I'd get a shipping confirmation when it did. Less than 24 hours later it shipped and they never told me. They ignored my email to cancel and I had no idea it was coming until it showed up on my doorstep.

Great deal.home depot wants 549.00 for the same part number.
Only things is when i ordered it they said 3 business days shipping.after the order was placed the confirmation email said 8.
Still a great deal i can wait.
