so i've been using my chrome-plated non-impact rated mechanics tool set with an M12 impact for a while for the occasional car thing, is it okay-ish to keep doing that or should i get this set?
You risk breaking the chrome ones if you use them on impact tools

Is the risk that they'd like crack or that parts might fly off and potentially hit me?

Can anyone clarify what the 3/8 adapter is? It's an adapter converting what to what?
the longer skinny 3/8" is an extension. The shorter, fatter 3/8" is a universal joint, which can swivel for those hard to reach places

they can shatter, sending metal shrapnel in random directions.

The piece I was wondering about is the one it mentions in the description "and one 3/8 in. adapter." It specifies that separately from the 3in extension and the universal joint

i think thats a typo. the pictures show a 1/4" hex adapter, which you could use on a impact driver.

I have this exact set (paid more and worth every penny). The adapter is the same as this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../204408619
It converts 1/4" Hex drive (like an electric driver) to 3/8". I use it routinely with the surge impact driver.

These Milwaukee deals as of late will not work if HD detects you have been logged in before. Use incognito and checkout with PayPal.

Thanks, both of you. Makes sense.

Now someone explain to me why I just bought this even tho I don't have any 3/8" impact tools, just a 1/2" impact wrench, and a 3/8" powered non-impact ratchet (as well as other manual non-powered tools)

Those chrome ones are hard and brittle and will wear your anvil out. A worn anvil will have torque loss vs an unworn one.

I've been able to get on 2 of these Milwaukee deals in the last few days so far, while logged in and not in incognito. I got the 3/8 M12 Fuel ratchet the other day, and now this one. For this one, I literally logged in to my account before pasting the item's internet number in the website search bar, adding it to my cart, then checking out (through PayPal -- but again, I was logged in and not in incognito mode).

Btw, I see 5 Chase UR points per $1 for Home Depot through the Chase portal, and also 3% PayPal Cashback for Home Depot (PayPal offer activation required)

looks like doing paypal checkout will keep the $99+tax price if you want to ship it. Can't use Home Depot pro dollars if you do paypal checkout though
