As I stated with the warranty and peace of mind and 32gb/2tb, you could make a case for it. The Walmart model is only 512gb

The 2022 version of these should be out this week or next week. We should see all of these becoming cheaper.

Not very good price now. I got this exact config from lenovo for $1480 with edu discount months back.

At this price, should just go for the legion 7 with ryzen 9 and 3080 which is significantly faster for $1799, only $100 more. Yes, it has half the ram and ssd but you can upgrade the ram and ssd yourself later . And you are getting ryzen 9 and 3080 as well as legion 7 which is a more premium chassic!

This is overkill for most people. Should be priced at $1599 to get people to bite.

Yeah, I was hoping Costco would make this cheaper. This was $1500 and $1550 at Lenovo and B&H couple months ago.

I rarely find Costco laptop deals to be all that compelling price wise. It's almost like they're having to price in the extra warranty and the likely elevated number of returns they receive vs the competition. Guess that's the downside of the generous return and warranty policies. I'm not sure the extra hard drive space and RAM justify the $300 price increase over the similar Walmart unit, unless I'm totally out of touch on the price of memory and storage. I feel there's a reason the $1,399 walmart unit has been increasingly easy to find in stock with the successor being released...so this is even harder to justify. Still a nice laptop and probably not a bad deal, I just think you're better off upgrading the memory yourself and maybe waiting a bit if you can.

I bought this laptop with the exact same specs for $1599.00 at B&H Photo. Plus I got it tax free with their Payboo credit card.

Agreed. That is a far better deal. Most won't ever need 32 gigs and drives are an easy cheap upgrade when needed.

Read some other reviews saying there were microstuttering issues with the AMD models of the Legion 5 Pro. Does anyone know if this is still a concern or a real issue?
Thanks.

It's rarely stated anywhere, but the "2TB SSD" is really 2 x 1TB SSDs, which then occupy both m.2 SSD slots. I *think* they are configured in a RAID to show as a single 2TB drive in the OS, but it is physically two separate drives.

If you take into account 7% tax, for $11 more you can get the Legion 7 from B&H (Payboo card to "save the tax") with 32GB RAM, 1x1TB SSD (which is PCIe 4.0 vs. 3.0 for the Costco deal), and an Intel processor. Not saying that's necessarily a better deal, but at least another option to consider.

The Walmart deal is 16gb ram/1tb nvme ssd. I'd say it's better even if you have to spend a little more on a second party warranty.
