Related to bestbuy protection plans on TVs, do they hassle you when you try to make a claim? Anyone with experience? Bought an open box tv couple years ago and seeing how good they are about replacement?

Not free shipping for all, unfortunately, as I'm in the market for a TV such as this. $110 for me and I live in a decent-sized town -- just one without a Best Buy.

Just went through this on a 75in that died after 1 year and I bought the 5 year GeekSquad. Was completely painless, they sent a tech out to diagnose the part, if it is a smaller board they will swap it out, for me the panel was dead so the TV was totaled. They give you a order number to call in the next day and they will offer either a replacement comparable model (which in my case was actually 33% more expensive than what I paid originally) or they will give you the value of the comparable model + tax back in Best Buy Credit. Plan to buy through them in the future. My replacement with a new GS warranty came yesterday.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't have an issue as severe as yours but feels like there is some burn in. Trying to get a feel how hard they will scrutinize.

If you have a warranty, it should still be an issue with the TV/quality and under warranty. They shouldn't hassle but if they do ask up. Meaning, ask for a supervisor. They will in the long run help they do have good customer service, if you get a bad one just switch the person out or go around them. They don't normally, though. If it is burned in slightly then it will get worse, just express it.
