Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Declined with 805 credit score, very strange. Decline reason is soo many open cards. Has anyone successfully got them to change their mind by calling reconsideration line?
No, they don't do recon. You should have checked pre-approval tool first before applying. Their system is weird

Never knew about preapproval. And why do they have a recon phone number if they don't do it? To piss people off?
I've had 26 cards over the years and this might have been the first declined one. I have probably 12-13 accounts open now. I regularly use my cards, not sure if my business cards (under my name ring up on my personal profile) but I regularly have 5-10K in charges between business and personal per month.

Yes, tons of people got hit by the same reasons. I have 15 cards over 150k credit line, 820 credit scores, 1% utilization, never carry balance, never got declined from any banks before. Got denied still. I called but they didn't recon. I then went check on reddit, surprisingly many people got the same isssue, havent seen any case got approved after calling recon.
Since 2018 I've had a bad experience with capital one they raise my interest to 31.79% and I never get any credit limit raises ever and I know my credit has gotten over the years but loyalty isn't enough?? I only missed one payment out of many yrs of being there with em not a good credit card to have to be honest I've heard better ones Caine wait till my credit is better
global entry is $10. countless people sell this. the way is they alreayd have GE but they have cards that offer GE $100 credit so they lend that card to pay for your GE and you paypal them $10. I paid $10 for global entry for each of my family members
I had a capital one card that was closed a few months ago due to inactivity (NOT a venture card…some cashback Mastercard I think, don't recall the name)…will I be eligible for the bonus points?
The wording is a little vague, does it mean previous venture holders are ineligible or anyone with any sort of capital one card?
I've noticed in general Citi, Amex and Capital One really trying to weed out churners. Amex basically won't let me have any sign on bonus (at least they tell you before the app goes through) and Citi now denies for too much unutilized credit. And I'm not even a mega churner I do maybe 3 or 4 cards a year.
Anyone knows how to get your Capital one venture card downgraded? I tried talking to the agents few times, and every time they say there are no offers available for you. They are OK with you cancelling the card, but won't let you downgrade.
I have an offer in the mail for the Chase sapphire card, spend $4k in 3 months and get 100k points with annual fee of $95 or $98(can't remember). Is the Chase offer a better deal that this? I also wondered if getting points or getting miles is better if amount is the same.
1000%! Chase is the preferred way to go due to flexibility plus that bonus is much higher and worth more.
I've never used airline rewards card, let me guess, 75,000 mi reward doesn't exactly equal 75,000 mi in real life
If you spend those points on travel reimbursment then those points equal to $750 exactly, or of you transfer those pointa to an airline partner then it may be even more depending on how you do it.
