Is your thinking that this keyboard is going to somehow improve her carpel tunnel? There's nothing ergonomic about this keyboard. If anything the tall mechanical switches and keycaps are going to be an even worse situation.
Look for one that separates the left and right hand at least, and ideally keeps the thumb sides of the hands higher than the "pinky" side
I would suggest going for something with the palm rest plastic thingy that attaches at the bottom the keyboard. Usually a Microsoft or Logitech "ergonomic" type keyboard. I've even found cheapo ones at Walmart. Big difference is the extended plastic, instead of an immediate drop off/edge of keyboard, so your palms rest on it and it keeps your wrists higher/aligned.
Speaking from personal experience using computers at work 40hrs a week. The cheap OEM keyboards edges just stop, no ergonomics. So I'd ALWAYS replace it with one of mine. Big difference happier wrists.

aren't most... if not all keyboards hot swappable?
nope, they aren't
Wait, I realized you are thinking something else: the SWITCHES are hot swappable, not talking about the keyboard itself which you are right, it's hot swappable :
Edit: but hot-swappable keyboard and replace switches, eg from red switches to black or brown or my preference Akko[amazon.com] (for your curiosity)
I have this one with brown switches. Compared to a membrane non-rgb keyboard it will blow your mind. Compared to Cherry MX Brown the keys are wobblier (not really noticeable unless you are paying attention) but slightly quieter.
Blue switches will be loud and clicky if that's your thing.
Any link for the brown switches? I can't find any on their amazon page for brown.
Looks like quality control is all over the place on this thing based on the reviews.
As far as the switches go, I actually quite like the clone switches (Kailh or Outemu) more than the genuine Cherry MX Blues. But, the brand of switches (if they're even branded at all) are not mentioned, so I have no idea what they are. It also doesn't look like there are enough reviews to know whether it's any good.
But, for 16 bucks, it's definitely worth the gamble.
FYI: the lighting on this keyboard is only the original color on each key. The effects turn the brightness up and down but there are no spectrum effects or other things like with an actual RGB keyboard where each key can change color.

Doing IT work, I don't understand why more people don't go ergonomic, especially in offices - i made the switch years ago to the Microsoft one and everyone complains when they need to use my keyboard but it's so much more comfortable and natural feeling that I now notice the bend in my wrists when I have to use a standard keyboard or god forbid my laptop's keyboard.
Agreed, the increase in height at the front 👌
Just wish I could fit one in my backpack to use when I'm not at the office lol
I've come across a few people that have these mechanical keyboards and I hate them. They're noisy and you have to press the key further down than other keyboards and I've yet to see an ergonomic mechanical keyboard.
I'd also recommend a wrist pad for your mouse as well.
