I can recommend buying memory cards from B&H Photo. They were recommended to me by a Sandisk rep at a trade show a few years ago after I was complaining to him about getting fake cards from Amazon. I've never had a problem with a card from B&H (out of several hundred cards).
256gb is $27. That said,I wouldn't buy these from Newegg, or anywhere but the manufacturer directly
FYI, you can download a program from Samsung to check the authenticity of a SD card:

Samsung Memory Card/UFD Authentication Utility
Reference: https://images-eu.ssl-images-amaz...Qp-5gL.pdf

You can download the tool here:
https://semiconductor.samsung.com...ort/tools/

Scroll to the bottom "Card & UFD Software" and click on
" Samsung Card-UFD Authentication Utility Version 1.0.1 l 14.7MBDOWNLOAD"

Got one of these for like $6 after the $10 off coupon last fall, direct from Samsung.com... Died in less than a week in one of my Eufy 2K Indoor cameras. Two other Samsung cards just died this week too. Meanwhile I've never had a Sandisk, Kingston, or other brand of card fail.
I, too, had a Samsung 512 card died on me less than a month. It has really shaken my trust in Samsung cards.

I'm the opposite. I've had 3 sandisk microsds die (2x200gb + 1x128gb) and their extreme pro SSD. Their RMA was good tho and all got replaced without much hassle.

Never had a problem with my 3 samsung microsds and I only buy Samsungs now.

All our stories are anecdotal and don't really count for much in the overall scheme. Just buy price/performance and expect this stuff will die at any time.

I want to ask, is it better to get a 128gb card or 2-64gb cards for a DSLR? In the market for a card and need to get one asap, but I heard that it's better to have two cards due to segmentation faults in SD cards. Would appreciate it, thanks

I think it's better to use a few cards rather than a single, in particular if you don't unload the cards to a computer until you're back from a trip. Rather than all your eggs in one basket Smilie

A 64 Gb card will hold a lot of photos!

Unscrupulous company. Supposedly sent out an sd card that never arrived, wouldn't and couldn't furnish proof of it being sent and never replaced or refunded. Never using them.

why would anyone want to pay $1 more AND drive to a Microcenter to wait on their long lines when Newegg can deliver to your door? Is Newegg that bad these days?
It's on my way home from work and I order online so it is picked & ready in a short line 15 minutes after ordering typically.
If their online pickup line is running slowly, the managers usually have me cut the regular line to the next available cashier. Quite fast 90% of the time.
YMMV.

How are these sd cards?
better than pro plus?
These are like the Amazon-specific Evo Select that's on sale often.

Pro Plus is better as those write at 100MB/s ..these if truly like the Evo Select are 58MB/s

Newegg got caught selling defective returns to customers, then denying a refund when the (second) customer returned it as defective. The customer hadn't even opened it. Newegg did relent and refund him, but only because he was a YouTuber with a pretty big following and it became a PR disaster for them. And no it wasn't a one-time fluke. They scammed a client of mine out of nearly $1k the exact same way with some enterprise HDDs he ordered. He returned them, 3 of the 4 hadn't even been opened. But they claimed he broke them all and denied the refund.

With the bankruptcy of Fry's, Microcenter is now the last specialty computer hardware retailer with physical stores nationwide. I don't mind tossing them a few sales now and then to try to keep them around.

That's the system I began following when we were using CF cards. But then I dropped a microSD card in the grass while doing a swap, and spent half an hour looking for it before I found it.

I now get a single big card and just leave it in the camera. I'm more diligent about transferring photos from the camera to my laptop via a USB cable every chance I get, as way of backup (photos on the laptop automatically get backed up to Amazon Prime Photos). And I carry an extra (smaller) microSD card in my wallet as a spare in case the big one happens to fail during a shoot.

I swear the manufacturers should just put a bit of ferrous metal on microSD cards so you can easily find them with a magnet sweep.

I have had nearly all positive experiences with NewEgg over the years. There was a time I was purchasing over $10,000 worth of electronics per year...and many of those purchases had the killer rebates that were incredible.

At that time, there were so many naysayer's...people that I feel were either delusional or suffered from paranoia. Many, many people were afraid of sending in the rebates...

What was my experience? For some years, New Egg sent me $3000-$5000 worth of rebates per year and they never missed one check or ATM card to me. This is when I owned my own computer company. This was back in the days of Fry's, Tiger Direct, etc.

I have continued to buy from New Egg [not as much now] and still experience great service.

Some people can be so negative and influenced by negative reports that they can no longer see the truth...

I feel sad for these people!

I will purchase one of these cards because I recently purchased an awesome dash cam from Amazon and need a class 10 that is fast.

Have you ever heard of of the term disinformation? EEK!

LOL,laugh out loud seems to be in the news lately, but its been around much longer than a lot of people realize...

Cheers!

Security cameras and dashcams are a use case for high endurance SD cards rather than these.

That's what I have in my main cameras that I really care about, but for some of the lesser important cameras, I just used the different brands I'd had laying around from over the years.

It's owned by chinese, so you take your chances whatever you buy, however SD cards are a huge opportunity for fraud...

PS - never buy Lexar cards... chinese....
