The ones from harbor freight (redesigned) ones are the best Chinese stands available. Locking pin with robotic welds and another lock on the pin itself. Highly recommended on sale.

Any moving parts pose danger. I always stick a wheel underneath as the last effort to save me from being crushed if everything else failed.

Pros aren't usually using jack stands. They're using lifts unless they're at the track.

If you use these much at all, I'd save up for four AL stands. Pins are unnecessary if the stand is designed correctly.
Based on past jack stand deals, the driveway mechanics will tell you that they prefer the locking pin. Personally mine don't have the pin but I leave the jack on the frame while using the stands. Pretty confident the three points will safely support the vehicle.

Pros use jack stands all the time…many times a lift is not available…I always use jack stands and I've been working in cars , construction equipment for 35 years…I wouldn't hesitate grabbing these if I were in need of some….

Just an opinion, but I have never heard of this company which raises suspicion. Doesn't make them bad, but Jack stands are the one item to not buy based on low price. Get a brand that has a long track record and buy over-capacity (like 6 ton).

The pins are a redundancy I believe... A fail safe. You definitely should want that.

Yes, the pins are good to have, especially after the Harbor Freight disaster.

There is something about going cheap on something like this where your life depends on it! It's kind of like going cheap on condoms, there has to be a line for being cheap right?

.
I actually agree with the 6 ton version for imports sold under many different brands. The weight for the OP is for the pair, or 3,000lbs max each and something to consider with full size vehicles and trucks.

As an example, compare the not on sale 6 ton sold on HF [harborfreight.com] to the 3 ton versions sold everywhere and notice the better build, the more stable flat feet welded on the legs so they don't sink in as much, etc. The taller build also means that not so much of the stand is extended for normal usage to become a bit wobbly. And those we have, also have a pin in the bottom of the extension so you can't just pull it out when carrying after most all the imports and domestics removed the welded on carry handle to save on costs.

Most of the time, you do get what you pay for. The OP is a decent deal for what it is, what many others are selling under various brands and absolutely better than nothing. But yea, we can do better for safety's sake without testing the 2 year warranty.

The difference is that Harbor Freight stood behind it, while all the rest of the imports sold on the Internet just changed names. There are tens of thousands just like HF recalls still being used today with no recourse should they fail.

HF often sucks, but they are not a bad company.
