I ordered this same build almost a month ago from HP and it hasn't shipped yet so be wary of that if you need it soon. HP is notorious for delaying expected ship dates.

The GTX-1660 Super is quite impressive if the game you're playing is well optimized. I had a PNY GTX-1660 Super with my Core i7-9700K and the newest Forza Horizon played super smooth at 2560x1440p at 60 FPS on medium-high graphics settings.

At this sub $600 price point, GTX 1660 SUPER is this build is pretty good actually.

Great deal.

You can subtract $25 by going with a 350watt gold power supply. 350 should be more than enough since the cpu is 65w and GPU is 125w.

You do lose some future upgradeability with the smaller power supply though.

Upgrade to WIFI 6 for $10 is a good deal.

Unfortunately RAM and SSD upgrade is very overpriced. So you should budget $60 for 16gb RAM and $100 for 1TB nvme SSD.

This is a solid deal! The 1660 Super is $309 bucks alone! Since this has a 5700G with Onboard Radeon Graphics, the GPU could be used in a build and the PC could be sold for $300 easily! Thinking of doing this myself. I am rocking a Ryzen 1700 with RX590 now

I'm very good with understanding specs and machine builds. How is the gameplay specifically with COD War Zone and Fortnite? This is for my son. He has been asking for a gaming PC. Will be running 1080p gaming.

Should be fine at the 1080p/1440 resolutions.

In the market for a sub $1k pc to play mostly blizzard games, this seems to hit the mark. Not scheduled to ship until late June however, what is the likelihood of a better prebuilt in the 2 months it takes to get this one? Also any reviews about the airflow?

Some example references that show 1660 super running those games :

YMMV because this system config differs from what those people tested but it ought to be similar ballpark of performance I'd think.

It runs, but it warns you about the lack of RAM to properly play the game. It plays just fine though, it has only crashed on me maybe once or twice.

Ordered 2 of them, and was able to take advantage of the 10% off coupon (10MDSHP)
With the 1660 super and standard 350W Power, it came to $540 each.
I may also get $80 cashback ($40 each, using be frugal). It is showing up on my account there.

So for $500, this is a steal.
Even after upgrading ram and hard drive (16gb / 1TB), it should be under $650.

how proprietary is this thing? I have a SeaSonic 700W modular PS in my HTPC rig and want to swap this unit into that one.

Nope. Not one part in this is standard. Search YouTube there's some reviews and tear downs. A decent system for the price but limited by non standard parts.
