First post.

I've been trying to find a good deal on a M18 impact driver that didn't require a hack for a few months and came across this one today. It comes with one 5.0ah battery, one 2.0ah battery and a charger.

With shipping from Farm and fleet it's about $55 more for one 5ah battery instead of one 2ah battery but doesn't look like it has a charger. Both come with at least one 5ah battery. Is the Farm and fleet deal still better for the $55 extra?

Depends on your needs. If you need a charger the HD deal is better.

I already have the M18 Rocket tower light with no batteries and needed an impact driver so I wanted to stay in the M18 line up. The tower light has an integrated charger but it's not ideal. Thanks to the Slickdeals community I've seen a lot of great deals from Ryobi but have been holding out for some Milwaukee batteries. I guess it's just an ok deal. The 55% off in the advertisement must have influenced my decision 😅

Grabbed one. My Makita sounds like an AR-15 so hopefully this will help curb future hearing damage 🧏

I've owned/used this surge for 2 years and it's the one tool I recommend to everyone I know. You'll love it compared to a typical impact.

I have the M12 version and it's much nicer to use.

Deal is still available. Is the Surge much better?

It's randomly in and out of stock. Just gotta keep checking

Interesting that the latest Milwaukee deals seem to be mostly M18. Does it tend to switch seasonally, with M12 deals more of a fall/winter thing and M18 more spring/summer? I'm too far into the M12 system to even consider any M18's, but I also don't really need that kind of power for my needs. My only real complaint is that their tools should come with boots, or at least their boots should be cheaper. $30 seems way too expensive. I found some cheaper online, but not by that much.

It depends on what you want. The normal fuel impact is more powerful but much louder. The surge is less powerful but much quieter. So if you want speed then go with the normal fuel. If you will be using in confined spaces and need something more quiet then go with the surge.
