288 Wh is the capacity. You can run something drawing 288 watts for 1 hour. 144 watts for 2 hours, 72 watts for 4, etc. If you draw the full 1200 watts, expect less than 15 minutes.

I have this model….it's solid. Lots of great features including pass through charging. Think of it as one of those surge protector/power strips with a battery backup. You can have this plugged into an outlet and then have a device or small appliance plugged into the River. it will run the device/appliance with AC power while charging(and maintaining) the battery in the river. When AC input is terminated, the battery in the River will take over immediately and power device/appliance. It charges very quickly and accepts 300 watts of solar input. The App is very well developed and intuitive with a plethora of info and the River itself has a great LCD/LED readout. An additional battery pack can be added to the bottom of this unit for 700+watt hours of power.

No. It's running watts is 600 with a surge of 1200 watts….it cannot sustain a constant 1200 watts but is more for things like a small fridge when a compressor starts up then levels out. The energy stored is 266 watt hours.

If you have a decent brand power supply and you're not running a big percent of rated capacity, you probably would be ok. Usually decent PSU will have better caps that provide more buffering

Still I wouldn't ever use this for critical uptime, even if it"worked"when you tried
Another solution, if you already have a UPS connected to the device, is just plug the UPS into the river. I know it's basically a battery plugged into a battery, but then the UPS will bridge that 30ms gap. Just throwing it out there!

It says it can power up to 1800W devices. I'm confused. Is it 600W, 1200W, or 1800W?

Thanks for posting this - good deal. For those that are looking for higher capacity, this reminded me to check stock on costco for the 720Wh version and it's available again for $430 for those interested: https://www.costco.com/ecoflow-ri...16905.html

Pair this with a couple of 100 watt solar panels and you can run your LED shop lights. Capacity can be doubled by adding an extra battery. Older battery chemistry means shorter life span. Closest competing Bluetti is better, IMHO.

So are you saying the bluetti is better or the ecoflow is better?

I don't think so:

"It can be an emergency power source (EPS), which will have the same result as UPS for most electronics. Here's the difference. When your RIVER is plugged into the wall, anything plugged into it gets power from the grid, not its battery. If power from the grid stops, RIVER automatically switches to its battery supply mode within 30 milliseconds. That means anything connected will not have power for 30 milliseconds, which may mean sensitive electronics like desktop computers and data servers turn off. Test your devices individually to see if they need UPS to stay powered."

Thanks for sharing the documentation and link, chumpsky! Was thinking about using it for my aquarium controller, pumps and heater in an emergency situation. I think the risk tolerance is fine - and I have a feeling this might last longer than a UPS. (at least enough time to determine if I need to setup the gas generator). The controller is a computer, though, so not sure if it will "bounce."

Interesting idea if not a bit redundant. I just don't know enough between how this device's watt hours compare to a UPS as most don't state watt hours.

Depends how many watts it is, but I'd guess at least double this...so the Bluetti someone linked earlier.....but again check the watts. I'd guess 150W refrigerator for 2 hours might be this deal, 4 or 5 hours the Bluetti?
