Nova pink, Starlight blue and Galactic Purple are the most recent of the colors.

The first wave of DualSense controllers have many reports with issues. They have an FCC ID that ends in the number 1, whereas the FCC ID on the redesigned controllers ends in the letter A. 1A has been seen on right side bottom of the box, usually on the newer colors.

That'll be up to you. Local multiplayer is all but dead. I always keep extra controllers so that I can leave them in a couple different places around the room so that there's usually one wherever I sit. That's just out of pure laziness. I also make sure to always have at least one charging. That way I never have to play with the chord plugged in.

Yes, they should by now but there is no way of telling until you open the box of the older three colors. Ive heard somebody bought a white one and it was a newer version. Also Im sure there are a handful few floating around mixed with the new ones. Some store just dont put the new ones on the first in first out rotation. If your willing to play the chance with russian roulette or by just taking it back to bestbuy for a exchange for an other go. I just wish you good luck.

Sony must be due for a massive restock considering that the PS5 hasn't been stocked in ages. I'm getting a little bored of my Series X despite Microsoft building high quality hardware and Game Pass being a great idea that's executed well. I'm more of a sucker for the DualSense technology…

You sure thats not a PS4 controller your speaking of? Retail price has been $75 since PS5 launch. Also, buying a used controller is risky considering the multitude of hidden issues it could have.

I went with BestBuy since I had a $5 certificate I could redeem and I have the BB card to earn 5% back. Got black as a backup and save time with charging. Been meaning to get another controller. Thanks OP!

I have a black and a red, both seem to work better and have better build quality than either of the white ones that I got with my PS5. The triggers went out on those pretty quick and there was very little resistance. I've been using the black for some time, and the red since Christmas. Not sure I need a 3rd controller, but this is a good price.

Right, however the controller model CFI-ZCT1W on the box is consistent for all PS5 controllers. The FCC ID is not printed anywhere on the box.

CFI-ZCT1W is printed on the side of the box and the bottom of the barcode for my white PS5 controller purchased in 2020 or early 2021 (FCC ID: AK8CFIZCT1), my red PS5 controller just purchased (FCC ID: AK8CFIZCT1A) and the new purple PS5 controllers (FCC ID: AK8CFIZCT1A). You have to open the box and look at the FCC ID on the back of the controller to determine which variant you received if you do not purchase one of the new colors.
