My dad has one of these in a poly cart he hooks up to the lawnmower and drives around the 7 acre field spraying weeds each spring for several hours each morning.

My dad is also 80yrs old. His pancakes aren't exactly stacked anymore.

Serious question: can I mount this on top of my SUV to provide clean water/shower during road trips?

Would I need to hold the wand and pull the trigger as I drive my riding mower to spray?

Thanks OP. I have 2 acres of lawn that butts up to a few thousand acres of forest. It's been a very wet spring and we have a small tick problem. They are dirty nasty little creatures that carry a ton of diseases. Been looking for one of these. Perfect timing!

With straps on the roof rack I don't see why you couldn't

I don't see why not! These things are literally just a big container with a 12V motor that pumps out the liquid. The ATV version seems cheaper than the tow behind for riding mowers for obvious reasons but go for it. These also have the 12V black/red lead so you literally only need a car battery or power station to just hook up power to.

Okay. Sounds like he's still trucking and trying to keep his place nice. Not sure what's so weird or novel about this, unless you're a hipster who's never gotten his hands dirty with yard work.

Sounds like a reasonable idea. No idea why it wouldn't work other than 15gal is about 120lbs. Usually you'd want to keep that weight low and center if you can.

Yeah, and besides the weight, I also would like to know if the spray or pressure is enough for a decent shower Smilie

Depends on your standards. If it builds full pressure it will be pretty good, your issue is the head size. Unless you want a painful stream, you'd do like a heavy mist. The length is a little odd ball in that most people are not used to holding a 1.5ft long shower wand and having to hold a trigger.

no different than the smaller weed sprayers and such. the ,15 gallons just makes it less convenient to fill. overflows don't matter much in a pickup or atv... kinda sucks in a carpeted suv interior.

filling it on your roof is also problematic.
