My first 850GA lasted 15 months. The next one lasted 6 weeks. No more Evga PSUs for me. Very unreliable.
Hello if I plan to use this as part of a future Nvidia 4080 build will this be powerful enough to support that build. I am pretty new to this .
Actually I was going to buy a PSU in preparation for that card and then I learned there are new PCIE 5.0 PSUs that have a special connector for the newer cards it's called 12VHPWR.
There's only 1 on the market which is a gigabyte but I hear it's no good. So I'd hold off until more come to market.
leads me to believe that I should just do what it says.
This PSU is in the highest tier and a top tier 750 watt unit for $80 is pretty good, I paid $100 for my MSI and that was a sale price (granted it is multi-rail link[gamestop.com]). The tier list has spoken.
Thank you for replaying. So do I nee to buy like a 1000w + supply so as to provide ample power to cpu , mobo etc
Also if you live in an older home, check the wiring to see if you can handle it.
I hope they come up with more efficient cooling solutions for the 4080 (maybe add a backplate cooler?) I can't image that much power running through it without turning your case into a furnace.

From what I recall reading the 4080 will require a 1000w power supply. So this would not suffice.
