I have the RF-7 iii and RC-64 iii but no surrounds. Would the 600m be good surrounds in a 5.1 setup?

You got what I would get if I was starting over. I've had a serious setup for around 5 years. In fact I have the previous version of the 8000Fs, and today bought 500Ms (for extra bookshelves) and 504c (upgrade from 52-c). Don't get the 600s. Serious listeners that spent months with both prefer the 500s, they're balanced better. More is not always better, and you save $100. In the last week or two, Costco did have a good deal on receivers to power 7 channels. There were 2-3 options.

They have narrow dispersion (don't project sound well to the sides). Not for true surrounds maybe, but they certainly wouldn't take away from anything. Better than no surrounds. You'd just have to be accurate where you're pointing them.

I used to have RF-7 Gen 1 towers as rear speakers. They had quite the presence and I'm looking to recreate that.

The Monolith 12 is an excellent sub that will sound "tighter" to more discerning folks, but to someone that just wants great bass, especially for movies, that Klipsch can't be beat unless you are planning to spend double. Anyone that has heard both IRL will agree with this.

No Klipsch bookshelf will be able to recreate that. My impression from comparison the 600's will do it better than 500's.
It's not a night and day difference so whether it's worth the price is completely a personal choice.

Keep in mind sound is completely subjective and we are leaving a vast many other factors when determining how these would sound.

I would add, people need to keep in mind there is universal definition of great bass. There are vast many factors that come into play with that, output & tighter are just two.

If you define it by output and prefer Klipsch, you can get that for much less.

If you're not as a discerning person that can be considered great bass for much less.

I agree with all that. The 112SW has been on sale many times for $320 if someone needed to go down to that price point.

A year ago I bought https://www.adorama.com/kpr625fabb.html its my first home theater, and I really have no complaints.
That being said, will replacing R-52C for RP-504C be a big upgrade when it comes to sound?

I've had a set of KEF Q350 and Q650 in my Amazon cart and just got a PB-1000 from SVS sale. Would RP-600 + 504C be equivalent or better for a 3.1 setup? Probably going to 5.1 later.

I intentionally hung my new G1 to leave room for a large center. However I'm limited in space on the sides and don't want the speaker depth to block the TV. Looks like these are roughly same size as KEF though.

ETA: large, two story living room and powered by a tsr-700 for now.
