Saucony is one of the few athletic shoe companies still offering deep discounts. Running Warehouse still extends special discounts to individual running clubs. But certain manufacturers began restricting application of the RW club promo discount codes back in 2020 during the COVID bump. Saucony is one of the few companies that have not blocked discounts. The greedy slime balls at Hoka (Deckers) and Brooks (Berkshire) block the codes as other manufacturers.

Running shoe inflation is getting out of control. Some brands such as ON Cloud take pride in pushing up prices. A recent article on Market Watch explains the company's rationale. https://www.marketwatch.com/story...652990015?

Hoka is arguably the greediest of the running shoe companies. Not only are they pushing the envelope on pricing but they offer the worst durability in the industry. Effectively insuring that their shoes breakdown at higher frequency to boost replacement purchase sales.

After Hoka raised my preferred shoe, the Gaviota, to $170.00 this past year I have decided to look elsewhere for shoes and so far I have settled on Saucony. For those unfamiliar with the Gaviota it's just a basic stability shoe with no innovative technology. There's been no improvements to the shoe since it was introduced in 2016 and the shoes have poor durability.

Runners and customers need to take stand and stop acquiescing to these outrageous price increases. These companies are making massive (record) profits.

In 2016 Solereview.com did a deep dive on Asics, Nike and Adidas and was able to compute the BOM (bill of materials) and LOH (labor and overhead) for more than 13 shoe models. The analysis showed that shoe MSRP is typically 4-5x the cost to make the shoe.

https://www.solereview.com/what-d...ning-shoe/

Sales and profits at these running shoe companies have also been incredibly strong. Deckers, the parent company of Hoka reported an 89% YoY increase in sales for the most recent quarter with only a slight decrease in profit margin (-0.2%). They're making money hand over fist and understandably taking advantage of complacent shoppers by boosting shoe prices across the board by $10 for 2022 after a similar increase last year. Hoka charges Nike level prices but sponsors no major athletes nor spends any significant money on R&D. They pocket that money and buy back stock (NYSEBig GrinECK). The company has allocated $600 million dollars to buy back shares in 2022. All of that money came from running shoe customers (suckers) who are overpaying for Hoka's garbage shoes. Shoes that are made with cheap materials and adhesives that begin to fall apart, according to numerous reports, after a couple of weeks.

Very similar style. Both lightweight with excellent heel to toe transition.

Good for walking and running in your opinion? I don't mind spending more if it benefits me.

source? just applied code BMR50 to get 50% off.

[edit] looks like OP changed the code to TX7SMS10, but this combined with Saucony's 40% discount is only showing -$69 in cart for $81 total. BMR50 still works and brings it down to $75.

I have the 18 (almost the same as 19) and they're very heavy. They're more flat and also don't have the same bounce as Hoka. I only wear mine for short runs and walking.
