Yep, this would have been ~ $400 through most of 2020-21, and probably backordered. That's how I ended up with a Cap Barbell open/half rack for $225 and that was considered "getting lucky". Only had to wait a month! Wink

They tested the market and found out what it would bear.
Funny thing is if you check CL, there are still people trying to get pandemic prices for used equipment like this.

Can't stand the secondary market stuff that went totally crazy in the pandemic. Too many people in our culture willing to spend way too much for scarce luxuries allows it to spiral out of control.

I've been in the gym for 25 of my 45-ish year life. Little time spent doing pushups / pullups / body weight exercises and extra yard work during the pandemic was a good break for my body. Back in the gym now with minimal strength / body differences.

I wish people could exercise some restraint when it comes to buying and strangle secondary markets out when it comes to normal retail items.

Hmm the kind of real estate they need in my basement I am inclined to think 10$/month that I pay planet fitness is better than this plus I get to try all their equipment without cluttering my basement

Pretty sure this and the progear 1600 are the same thing including the lat pulldown attachment? I still have the lat pulldown attachment for a 1600 in box, just been waiting for a rack to go on sale
It is! I have a fitness 810 and the progear 1600 lat attachment

You probably also think using a smith machine in these horrible gyms is the same as doing free weight squats and bench press…

I have a ranch so space is of no concern. Also consider the operating costs to drive to the time as well as the time.

That's just to show you how appropriate of a gym replacement it is. You can do a 1/8th ROM 3 plate squat, just like the goobers at your local gym.

Actually, it would be best if you also got a bench for the ties.

It's a good budget rack but the only thing I dont like about it is the pull up bar has no grip like some of the others I've seen.

Crappy rack, but it will do the job and $200 is probably a no-brainer if you're on a tight budget.

You get all the free pizza and bagels at PF also, so there's that.

Does anyone know (or have personal experience) - if this would hold body weight while doing various exercises usingTRX straps?

Anyone that has this able to comment on how wobbly it is? I'm wondering if it's an issue with how people built it and if it can be supported more. It looks from the Amazon reviews you're never able to make it not wobble. I currently have a gym membership so Im not in a rush to get a rack for my home gym but it would be nice for the pull up and be able to hog a squat rack at home. How much should I be looking to spend on something that will last?
Haven't had issues with mine being wobbly. The issue I run into is with re-racking it can shift.
Easy to fix if you just rest your extra weights, plates, or put some sandbags, etc. on it.
