Don't waste your money, these are absolute garbage and are beat easily by the Anker Magnetic Wireless 5k battery for way less. Don't fall for the hype, these are annoying e-waste at best

I bought this at apple a week ago and used it for navigating around new york. As a non New York native, I lack direction so I used google/apple maps all the time when I needed direction from point A to point B. This magsafe battery lasted probably between 11am to 6-7pm under heavy usage. But it would keep my phone battery at high percentage. Because of that, I would never have a dead battery. It serves its purpose.
I don't have a battery comparison that I have used personally. I would also be cautious of buying from amazon because I have received empty packages of apple products before (Apple Watch Series 7).
Don't get this. It's probably one of the bottom 5 apple hardware ever made.
The LED on the bottom makes no since at all. You would think amber = charging, green = charged. But no. It's always amber… so what's the point?
If you are going case-less, it basically spins freely. There is a very small vertical magnet on the bottom that is SUPPOSED to keep it straight, but it's way too weak, so even a slight breeze will cause the battery to go off center. However, once I switched to a more grippy case (like the OEM leather case) it tends to stay put a bit better.
It gets very warm, and it makes my iPhone heat up to the point where the screen dims.
It dies out in half the time of the competition. Very small capacity.
Overall, I highly regret paying full price for this. It's not worth anything more than $20 USD. Otherwise, go with something like Anker that has many more features for less.
I use this battery pack when I travel or forget to charge my phone overnight. It's, well, fine: charges an iPhone 13 Pro slowly but steadily to keep the phone's battery at a decent level for most of a day, uses the same cable as the phone (and can serve as a passthrough charger), and has a rubber back surface which sticks well enough to an Apple leather case to pocket the whole stack without issue. Maybe I'm just less excitable about phone chargers than other people…
I think this is a pretty good deal considering the all time low is 74.99 during the Black Friday season. I have this magsafe battery and I personally like it over other 3rd party batteries because it also doubles up as a 15W magsafe charger when plugged in and it can reverse wireless charge so I can easily charge my phone and battery while using apple carplay without any extra cable. Although it's not going to give you a full charge or more like other brands, it's still pretty good as a battery extender. iPhone's battery life is already pretty good by itself and I don't really see having 50% more charge (iPhone 13 pro) a problem for my usage. Not expecting to ever be without a charging source for more than a day
Contrary to lots of opinions here, I like it and even consider to buy a second one. I also own 2 other brands (both anker) and I use the OEM one most of the time.

I wanted to ask about it because the idea of a nice reliable qi pack I can chargein the car or maybe backpack, hiking, or similar sounds good. Will check out the Anker - I've generally had good results with their products.
Thanks. I was thinking at 80 bucks, from apple, it was probably not super impressive. But better to have some idea.
After a recent firmware update, charging speed is ok at 7.5amps. The biggest issue is capacity especially for larger iPhones. The pro is this unit integrates very nicely and is relatively slim. I use mine when camping as a booster pack. This gives my iPhone 13 pro max (with full charge) an easy 2 day battery life.
Once you realize that this is NOT a wireless charger, but a very high quality battery pack to help all you with power anxiety get through the day, then you will love it. I have the Anker one too that everyone raves about, and that is so slippery, it doesn't have that powerful stick with that audible click that this one has. This also works with your phone battery as it is Apple made, so it has smart features to help with battery life. Not everything is about how fast something can be charged, unless you are a benchmark larp (whom I have great sympathy for). This is one of those things, one of elegance and Grace only Apple can provide. I am almost done with my chilled white wine and herb crusted chicken, then time for bed.

Anker had more mah but requires you to push a button to start charging. It also requires usb-c to charge vs lightning on the MagSafe battery.
In iOS you can see the battery level of the MagSafe charger and as others have said you can charge the MagSafe through your phone.
