I don't know of any amateur photographers that have a single camera body/lens combo that costs $15,000. I cant imagine a professional trusting their $15,000 camera system to this.
But for someone using it occasionally for an old already beat up spare, or a light point and shoot, why not. Everyone that uses a camera strap has to weigh their own cost vs risk vs convenience assessment.
