For hollow core doors, take the time to take them down and do it properly. Popping out the hinge pins only takes a couple seconds.

I don't know how many times I've seen the skins start to split from their frame because someone used a jamb saw on them without any clamps.

As for this tool, it's a bad bandaid for the real problem, which is poor framing.

In a lot of situations, just shimming the top or bottom hinge will fix the reveal without the need for minor undercuts.

Now I want something to trim the bottoms of doors workout taking them down lol... Which would make much more sense as me flooring is usually why you trim doors

Can use a track saw or even a regular circular saw running on the floor if the offset works

I can't think of a more useless tool. Doubt this does anything more than a piece of sandpaper would. Get a cheap hand plane or a rasp and do a better job than this tool is capable of

I can't see how you will get a straight cut with this unless you have a really steady hand and good timing.

Use a circular saw with a guide.

40% of reviews do not recommend. I was going to get as I have a house I am painting but also complaints of it scraping the painted side of the doors. Straightness was also a concern. Don't need something to make more more!

Thanks! I was able to cancel my order. I didn't really need this because I have one of those $40 door planers that work pretty well and sometimes I need to trim the bottom of the door and have to take the door off the hinges anyway. This seems like a good idea and price if u don't have another planer for doors.

If your door/hinge is saging and you can tell by looking at the space at the top of the door and the side of the door - then checkout the YouTube videos on how to adjust hinges and skip shaving the door...

For that it's worth I got this last time and now my door is wavey. It's just not a good product. Much better off taking the door off, just is what it is
