I would love a deal on a Dolby vision player at a decent price. My current Sony doesn't do Dolby sadly but I have no reason to really upgrade besides for Dolby
I suspect your right. I've had a Panasonic deal alert set here on SD since Christmas, and this is the first time it's tripped it. I am looking for the lower end model though (cant remember the #)

I have been waiting for a while myself, sadly better quality Blue Ray players aren't discounted significantly especially since the chip shortage. I don't see this gaining popularity streaming is too convenient but for those of us who appreciate the better quality and features we'll have to pay more going forward.

I own both the 420 and 820 models. Yes the 420 model was down to like $150 a year or 2 ago(okay I changed that). $219 seems like a good price now days. These are great players. They make my 4k blu rays, blu-rays and even dvd's look awesome on my oled tv's. Are they pricey? yes. Will any game console with 4k or any other manufacture 4k player compare to the Panasonic players? No. These players go great with high end tv's or projector systems. The 820 has the DV. It was hard for me to justify buying the 820 but I don't regret it now. If you have a large 4k disc based movie collection I suggest buying the 820 if its within your budget. The 420 is a great player as well. I just lacks that DV.

Years ago? It was $150 just 6 months ago during this last holiday season. It is entirely possible that it will be available at that price again.
That being said, you are exactly right. This is an excellent price on what is widely viewed as one of the best UHD players on the market.
What a clown comment. Because it was on sale for $150 during black Friday and holiday sales, it should automatically be on sale for that price again now? It is still on sale for the first time since the holidays. Get over yourself
