I am an existing customer with active trading account and just signed up for investing account with the promo and received the following email.
You're on your way
Thanks for registering for the $100 cash reward.
As a reminder, you have up to 15 calendar days to deposit $50 or more to qualify.
You'll receive the $100 within 25 days after you fund a new eligible account.
how is it BS? it's their terms, and it literally says "Fund the account with a minimum of $50 ("Net Deposit") from an external, non-Fidelity source.". reading is fundamental

I completed the signup and got the welcome email but not the thanks for registering for the $100 reward email. I tried the sign up link again and it says I've already claimed the promotion. Anyone else have this? Should I contact support?
I still haven't but I did end up starting a support chat and they confirmed that I properly completed the enrollment for the promotion. Now I just wait and see...
I already have Fidelity investment accounts. Used link to open a new cash management account. Within minutes of opening the account, i received the $100 bonus email reminding me to transfer at least $50 from an external account. Easy money just like the free $100 from Schwab a month or two back.
i am assuming that if I purchase index funds with the $50, that as long as i don't transfer funds out, that $50 in FSKAX should still qualify me for the bonus...
Thx everyone for this post, I successfully opened up a brokerage account a few weeks ago and all worked out with the promo, received the $100.
We then went thru the chat and asked if a Roth IRA for Kids would be eligible for this same promo, and the Fidelity representative said yes! We quickly setup this account, made the $50 deposit, but didnt find where to enter the promo code. Then after calling Fidelity, they are saying this type of account is not eligible.
We feel like we were misled, do you think Fidelity has to honor the promo? Should we keep pushing for it?

In my experience with similar situations, if they have a recording of the incorrect info they will probably honor it, but it could be significantly frustrating following up and being persistent.

You can continue opening this account, but the promo code cannot be used.
Possible reasons may include:
The promotion has expired
You are a Fidelity employee
You are associated with a financial institution
You have already used this promo code
