RAM is soldered & not upgradable

14" 4GB/128GB Lenovo Flex 5i seems to be a better option if you are willing to spend $30 more…. at least for the touchscreen feature, design, build & brand

Just a heads up, the build quality on these is not great. Not that you should expect much from something so cheap, but I have a higher-end version of this, and the touchpad started detaching from the base in under a year. I've actually tried two different higher versions of this, and both also had really bad screen clouding.

As for the power of this, you can usually get the Ryzen 5 version on sale for about $75 more. It has 16GB Ram, 256GB SSD and other stuff that makes it way more worth getting than this. This thing is so weak that there's very little reason to get this when smartphones exist.

Update: I accidentally put that it had a Ryzen 3. I meant to say 5.

Now, this is more like a very good price. One of my 2 laptops has a Ryzen 3, 4 GB RAM & 128 GB SSD like this sucker, and since all I do is check email & surf the internet, it's all I need. Repped.

It's not a horrible deal at all for what it is. But, I'm not poor so I swore I'd score four cores or more.

I would add that I had previously purchased a I1135 i3 basically and specs are good for price but hardware build quality made me return. The TouchPad felt like it was almost coming off. Better spend some more and get Acer, asus or Hp even tho they are cheap not this cheap..I like good specs but cannot sacrifice basic build quality..lot to be desired..display had stupid arse bleed..very bad QC on these gateway..run away.

The Ryzen 3 3250U is on sale at Walmart for $279. No reason to ever buy a Gateway trash computer... https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/270583648

Finally nice to see a cheap computer not be a complete pile of garbage with an SD card as a hard drive and celeron cpu while it takes 5 minutes to boot upto windows.

That Lenovo is only 4gb soldered ram and no extra slots to upgrade either

That's the smart move. Had an 11th gen i3 and it doesn't take much to bog the two cores down. Web content and browsers have gotten very very resource heavy. Was kicking myself later on down the road when I realized spending the little bit more for 2 cores would have made one heck of a difference.

That's what I was saying. $30 extra for touchscreen, better build & design, and a more reliable brand.

I meant to say it was a Ryzen 5 version. I got them mixed up.

It's out of stock right now. I also meant to say it had a Ryzen 5, not 3. I got mine for $350, but I've seen them go to $325. When it's back in stock, they go on sale all the time. This is the one. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Gatewa.../977539259
