That deal only lasted a few hours, and was very slick. This is a good deal on the latest tech on a single antenna detector (no arrows like the r7 / r8)

You're confusing the r3 and r4. R4 outperforms r7 in terms of detection range.

The last gen is r3 / r7, new gen is r4 / r8. The 3/4 are single antenna, 7/8 dual antenna which enables arrows . New gen has a low noise amplifier (LNA) which boosts sensitivity / range..

The last gen is no slouch for range, the new ones have longer range, and depending on the tests some impressive improvements. They are all good options, it comes down to price vs. Features and your personal driving, location, etc. To make which is the best for any one person.

Still $350. at Amazon, $450. at Best Buy. Watch Vortex's comparison of the R7 and R4. The R4 has better range and a few more features than the R7 but he likes them arrows. I'd rather have the better range. I ordered one. Sales tax in TN is a killer, 9.75% in my county.

Range is adequate, you don't need 5+ alert for bogeys LMAO Arrows a must to know where they are so you can not waste time looking around for them and just go.

I got a R3 Xmas 2020 for $250 @Amazon. Grabbed the R7 BB deal. Sold the R3 for $240 on Facebook.

Arrows are your friend. I'd gladly give up the marginal increase R4 sensitivity for the R7 any day.
