You can and should keep your kids in a five point harness seat for way longer.

It is. Free entry and the opponents have to spend about $200k raising you. It's a sure thing, just takes 150,000+ hours to beat. Ultra HD the whole time.
I heard it is open world but only one life and lacks a final boss so kinda drag on forever. Gets really repetitive at lvl 30 and still lives at home and refuse to breed.

Completely agree. - but not a lot of choices for 5 point harnesses when kids start getting over 50 lbs

My son is 7.5 yrs old and I JUST took him out of his car seat and put him into a booster. All of his peers have been out for years but 5 point is just way safer.

How long? What recommendations do you have?
Once they grow out of it by weight or height, whichever comes first. That's one of the things to look at with seats (what the limits are). Age has not much to do with it.

Seeing lots of questions about when to switch to boosters - and a mix of good and bad advice. This site is definitely a top spot for accurate info: https://csftl.org/harness-or-booster/
Also use their Facebook group or message them for accurate car seat recommendations specific to your situation, or check the posts on their site for reviews and top recommendations from actual car seat safety techs.

We just put our 6yr old in a backless booster but now I'm wondering if that's the best thing. Maybe something like this would be best. He's about 48"~ and 42lbs~

In regards to safety, in event of a significant collision, your child's safety is at risk.
In regards to simplicity and convenience for the driver, it is of high value.
It is up to the driver to make the decision between safety and convenience in this case.

Personally, I cringe when I see kids in these types of boosters, with our without backings.
If you just handle a booster vs a conventional 5 point child seat, you can easily notice the increased safety the the conventional child seat offers in event of collision.

We can always try to bet on our own driving safety habits. But it's nearly impossible to gauge the risk if bad drivers out there. That's precious cargo of extremely high value you have in the backseat.

Would you say the seat in OPs post is a pretty good one considering it has a high back?

Don't put your 6-10 year old in a 5-point. It's safer, but my are they going to get bullied like hell by their peers.
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on SD. You're going to let a bunch of 6-10 year olds determine what measures you take to ensure the safety of your child?

Just tell her to say that she's training to be a racecar driver. Or explain to the other kids what happens in a car accident.

Same here our kids are 8 and wife recently requested new car seats because the 5 points was getting too tight. We got a set of chicco kidsfit. Was planning to get a set for mine car as well ...still running an Evenflo 5 points...

My kid is turning 6 this year and I'm buying one of these for her now... She's still in an extend2fit 5 point harness.

In my non expert opinion, I would not think it's suitable. a lot of that opinion is based on these videos I've seen
https://youtu.be/fZFxVXa1Gh0?t=3m15s

Again at non-technical opinion, I would only put a child in that type of booster seat that has a relatively strong body in neck and torso. Also someone else mentioned a good guideline: only move to these types of boosters that utilize the vehicle's belt restraint system when the child has fully outgrown the conventional child seats in height and/or weight.

Actually a forward facing harness isn't safer then a booster seat when the child is over 5 and mature enough to sit correctly. There isn't any evidence to support it's safer 🤷🏻 ♀️
