Flashforge is big in FDM printers for education. We have several of their Adventure 4 models in our schools. They also make laser resin printers for dental work.

I own one of these as I got as part of a package deal and have had good luck with it. I would compare it to the Photon Mono in terms of build quality. I'm not a huge fan of the FlashDLPrint software, but It works great with Chitubox and Lychee. For this price I may get another for doing minis.

Depends on what kind of printing you plan to do. Resin is very detailed but smaller build volume and you have to deal with toxic chemicals and baths, etc. FDM gives you lots of options for print material, generally cheaper, larger build volume, and most materials are non toxic.

This could be a decent entry resin printer, if that's what you're looking for. If you're uncertain, the relatively cheap price makes this a lower risk purchase as you figure out if you like printing or not.

To add to this, nasty stuff means not wearing PPE can result in stuff like permanent blindness if you get it in your eyes. Be really careful with your first resin printer and do your homework on how to safely work with it.

Well, despite my reservations the $10 coupon sealed the deal. No tax and no shipping cost really makes this worth a gamble I think. $89 out the door is a solid price.

Anyone have opinions on where to buy resin and a decent wash/cure station?

Hello guys, for everyone wondering if this is a good deal, it is, 2k is very good it's pretty much atamdar and at that resolution you probably won't even be able to tell it's even a printed part. Also this printer has an all metal top and slide construction meaning for this price there isn't a single printer that's close to the quality of this one, I don't recommend this if your buying this for parts you'll actually try to use tho, the resin is about twice as expensive for cheap stuff compared to plastic printer filament by wieght and it's not even close to as strong, you can buy high strength resin but it's expensive and at that point it's not worth it. Conclusion.... Buy it. It's a good deal and if your printing models or just toys for fun that it's a cool thing to have at a great price, these genuinely sell for around 200 on a good day so I gotta say this is a good deal

I have been wanting to try 3D printing for a while now and this price seemed like a deal to jump on. I don't know what I ordered but I'm excited to try it out!

How good a deal is this? I am looking to get into 3-d printing and wonder if this is a good first printer...any thoughts?
I really recommend getting a filament (FDM / FFM) printer. Build volume is a really big limitation and all the chemicals that you need for resin 3D printing are a pain in the ass to store, etc. Others may disagree.

I'm relatively new to 3-D printing but I am really enjoying my Anycubic printers. I got a Kobra and it worked so well that I bought another one. Some people will recommend getting a Creality or something older with more support from the community.

Oh, another good reason to go with a filament printer is that there are a lot more opportunities to upgrade/enhance/tinker. A resin printer is a self-contained unit that doesnt have much opportunity to upgrade or modify (as far as I know). For example, on a filament printer you can replace the stock firmware with something called Klipper which is way more advanced and allows you to print closer to the physical speed of your printer.

Thanks, I think I will stick with filament and a more popular printer for my first printer.

Does the liquid need to be drained in and out after each print?

As I understand not in between every print, but you can't just let it sit in the vat all the time. I'm strictly FDM, but have been looking into resin on and off over the years, so take that with a grain of salt as I'm not up to speed on the state of resin printing today.

I missed out on this deal, but this is invaluable information. I'm not quite ready to get into the resin game anyway.

One positive to a 2k screen: replacement of a 4k screen at this size will be quite pricey, and screen replacement is inevitable.
