Your math is correct, but just know that some Best Buy wouldn't know how to process the enhanced trade in value correctly. I suggest you bring a print out showing the $450 trade in value, but even then, there is no guarantee that you'll get it.

I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.

Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.

FYI, you only get these prices if you activate the phone on the big 4 carriers.

When you go in the store to trade in, many of them will have trouble with the trade in value. They'll offer you whatever low amount they would typically give. You'll need to correct them and tell them it's a promo. Show them the webpage on your phone on the BestBuy site (go to any S22 product page and there's a blue heading above the price, click that).

Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.

I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.

1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.

2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.

3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.

Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

Has anyone tried ordering online with the trade-in for the flip3 (TIV $700 online vs $800 in-store) and pick up in the store? Will this avoid all the hassles? Or they will have to do the same trade-in progress when I go pick up the phone regardless of what the online invoice says? Don't mind paying the extra $100 for a smooth transaction. TIA!
The only way is go thru all the hassle.. I think someone already mentioned the online TIV is less than $400, you can avoid all the hassle if you want to pay $400+ more

Good luck finding Best Buy employees and managers with functioning brain cells who can actually do this deal. I tried a few times with no success. Waste of time dealing with these morons. Circus chimps would have done better.
If a SD L10 Grand master can't navigate this with BB reps,, I pity the clueless crowd... Man..
I got lucky though to be able to get one and trade in and ultimately get a GC.

I think this is handled by Bestbuy employees and majority of them not aware of the promo. I visited 4 of the bestbuys and all have BB employees, IMO there should be a Samsung rep who can handle promo Samsung deals.
All the promotions is in a promotion folder... someone actually found IT in that folder.
You really think a BB rep getting a bit more than minimum wage will read every single promotion inside that folder and study all the procedures or will they spend their spare time chitchat with others?

The $350 is for the unlocked version. It's $700 TIV for the TMO (or other carriers). I have never traded in a phone so I don't know if they would have to do the same process to apply the TIV for in-store or online orders. Or they just check if the trade-in phone is in good condition and hand me the new phone since I have already processed the order online?

You can't lock an unlocked phone which was sold unlocked by the manufacture, I guess this is how conspiracy start by some random people saying some uneducated thing and people start to believe and spread around it LMAO
I know Apple sells phones that aren't locked initially but you put the sim in and it locks to the provider. All I'm saying is if you buy the phone outright at full price that's one thing but here you're getting a carrier subsidy to activate the phone to a specific carrier. They'd be fools to let you then cancel that at no penalty and walk away.

No, but Best buy should have a better system to auto populate these promotions. So, I blame Best buy.

The issue is not even availability to a folder or access to the information for an employee to successfully do the promotion. It is the unwillingness and stupidity of the Best Buy employees that I encountered to even listen or attempt the process that I explained to them. I tried multiple stores. At one I was told by a manager "we don't do promos like that here."

At another store an equally moronic employee even arrogantly informed me from the start that he is "THE T-Mobile expert who handles all of the T-Mobile transactions at their Best Buy store". When I explained the deal, he looked at me like I asked him to solve a Rubik's cube in under 8 seconds. He said "I can't do that here. You would need to do a trade like that at a T-Mobile store," and immediately walked away.

Congrats to those that were able to find cooperative employees. For me, it was too time consuming and frustrating to deal with stupid. Instead, I did my deals via Samsung. Their reps suck too but at least their deals work out for me.

iPhones sell better, are in way more demand, and hold their value, unlike Android devices.

The s22 has had bad press since launch. Samsung keeps running promos and deep discounts to keep units moving. It is merely smoke and mirrors to keep their sales figures looking strong.

I have sold 3 iPhone 13, 1 iPhone 13 Mini, and 2 iPhone 11 phones while the one new s22 I have is still unsold with zero offers. Nobody wants the thing.
Because, there's a lot ot sheep out there. Me, personally I would not touch any Apple crap.

Tell them to put in that code and also show them the fine print on your phone for the $800 flip 3. That's what I did for my last 22 ultra deal.

Don't kid yourself. Samsung is the same as Apple now, at least they are trying to be. I don't care either way, I just like to make a little extra money on these phones deals when they pop up. Samsung doesn't sell, while Apple sells like hotcakes. That is my experience.

Or they just check if the trade-in phone is in good condition and hand me the new phone since I have already processed the order online?
For the Z Flip 3 as trade:

$350 TIV for standalone trade in with no purchase. Walk with $350 BB GC.
$350 TIV for an activate later (or never) unlocked version Galaxy purchased on line or in store. Pickup/Trade in store.
$700 TIV for a carrier version Galaxy or iPhone. Can order online or in store, pickup/trade in store.
$800 TIV (Samsung TIV promo) purchase unlocked Samsung phone in store and trade in store.

The $700 carrier TIV for me is usually just net $35 less than the Samsung $800 because of how taxes are calculated here. However, right now the Unlocked versions are $50-100 or more cheaper as well. Not to mention you are buying an Unlocked phone with out the carrier bloatware. . .

I just did this deal at chula vista, ca best buy. The employee did the flip3 trade in and gave me the $800 gift card to order online instead since it doesnt work on their system. They were very helpful and process my online order right away.

Got a 256GB Ultra $178 out the door. Pay $600 out the door for the flip3 and watch on that other promotion. So far i have a s22 ultra 256gb unlocked and galaxy watch classic 4 for $778 total.
