I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.
Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.
Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.
I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.
1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.
2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.
3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.
Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

On the deal end.. I got an unlocked flip 3 with a free galaxy watch 4 for $475 after education discount, 10% cashback and $450 enhanced trade in value for my cracked screen Note 8 on samsung.com last weekend. Personally it's the best deal for me coz I had an old cracked screen phone that's worth $30 at bestbuy. I think everyone would just have to find the deal that works best for them.
I'm hoping when flip 4 comes out there'll be a good trade-in deal for me to upgrade at that time, then I get to keep my free watch

This is one of those weird BB snafu's. You should get $200 TIV with that in store Samsung towards Unlocked phone TIV promo. Just need them to search for your particular A71 on the their computer, and then apply the SAMSUNG promo to get there. . .

This current Samsung TIV promo towards unlocked purchase at BB flyer page was introduced at BB at about the same time as S22 series/S21FE launches (and probably derived at Samsung before those launches). . .so they didn't consider to add them to the ad flyer. Similar to on Samsung website, there normally isn't an option to trade in a phone that launched after the phone or tablet you are trying to buy, even if the new phone is a higher priced one than trade.
So in this instance, you can oddly trade in a phone on the purchase list (i.e. the Z Flip 3) which is also on the trade in list at $800, because it launched what 9 months ago. . .but S22 series is nowhere on the trade in list because of more recent launch
The previous similar Samsung TIV promo @ BB flyer originated what 6 months or so ago, and didn't include the S21U. . .but if you went into BB store, you got the highest TIV, if the rep spent the time to find the phone on Trade portal and enter promo code.
Same should happen here, at least for S22U. should be $800, though do you want to do that? The trickier ones are where the S22 base and S21FE land? Have to go into store to find out, as there is no written evidence of it. My guess would be $600 and $450 lol. . .Bottom line, some phones not on the list will qualify, but you need to go in and find out, and if they say it's the same value as the standalone TIV, that is not right. . .

If you want the phone and Samsung elevated TIV promo, must go in store to order. . .tender your trade in phone at that time. . .and then they'll either order it for store pickup (most likely) or some are able to then ship new phone to home, dependent on regional availability (and store rep skills lol). . .

And this seems to be a rare event for Sprint Trade in @ BB to get same amount. . .and discounted unlocked phone to boot. . .but sounds like you're all set on keepers for now, lol
