Your math is correct, but just know that some Best Buy wouldn't know how to process the enhanced trade in value correctly. I suggest you bring a print out showing the $450 trade in value, but even then, there is no guarantee that you'll get it.

I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.

Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.

FYI, you only get these prices if you activate the phone on the big 4 carriers.

When you go in the store to trade in, many of them will have trouble with the trade in value. They'll offer you whatever low amount they would typically give. You'll need to correct them and tell them it's a promo. Show them the webpage on your phone on the BestBuy site (go to any S22 product page and there's a blue heading above the price, click that).

Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.

I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.

1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.

2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.

3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.

Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

If you live in SouCal, don't go to Pasadena store, go to Glendale one instead. Went to Pasadena BB and they told me you can't double dip, but Glendale rep helped with no problem. Had to order one for pick up since they just finished setting up the last one for other guy who went for the same deal. I opened a ATT line. Total 875.99 -800 GC got from trade in. Total paid 75.99. Nice Deal

I got the S22 Ultra delivered yesterday. My S21 ultra screen got cracked last week and was not getting replacement and the local stores had for over $400 for screen replacement. I traded this cracked screen one for $1000 and got S22 Ultra 256 gb for 174 plus taxes. A great deal.

That's the BB near me. Rep who ordered my phones knew what was up with the deal and there was no problem.

Pasadena Best Buy had assholes working at the Mobile section. They are busier than other stores in the area so they think they're all that...
I got the S22+ 128GB from another store for $799. S22+ 256GB is $749. So I went and return an unopened phone there while it was still within 14 days. They denied the return at Mobile. I took it to the regular return and they radio the associate telling them to send me back to Mobile. Once back to Mobile, they wouldn't process it claiming that it was activated with Tmobile so I HAVE TO return it to where I bought it from. I told asked them what's the difference, they said only the original store can process the return (it's BS!) So then I asked them, isn't it the same system which they quietly agree. Then they said I signed the contract with T-mobile so I have to take it back to the original store which I told them No, I did not sign contract. The only agreement anyone sign is to acknowledge Best Buy's return policy. They made it seems like I'm stupid not knowing what a contract is... I studied contract laws. Holy forking shirt balls I wanted to go full Karen on these aholes!!

I drove back to the original store, got in the regular checkout line. The associate didn't even bat an eye seeing it was still sealed with original receipt, processed the return and move on to help the next customer.

Edit: sorry for the rant but heed the advice and avoid Pasadena store to keep your sanity.

HURRY GUYS - MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS DEAL ONLY LASTS UNTIL END OF DAY TODAY (AT LEAST ACCORDING TO MY BEST BUY REP). THE T-MOBILE PORTION IS THE DEAL THAT IS EXPIRING TODAY.
The $899 unlocked 256GB S22U with activation is still there. It survived until end of Sunday. The rep wasn't wrong, as his deal sheet clip board said until end of Thursday. Tomorrow morning he will get new deal sheets that includes the 3 day weekend sale (Father's Day 3 day sale). . .which is the same price. By all accounts it ends when it turns Monday central time. It might get extended, but I doubt it, given the Samsung on display phone announcements say through Sunday ($300 discount and Free memory upgrade), as they foot most of the bill in these discounts, especially on unlocked activate now/later deals (no matter where the discount shows up for end consumer @ BB).

Yeah, I've run into a rogue store or two lately. You didn't agree to contract, but rather TMO or other carrier activation, when you got the original S22+ 128GB for $799. Were you able to get an S22+ 256GB for $749 after the return at that original store?? Pasadena store might be one of those no double dip deals kind of stores in general, or just that the commission lies in original store, and they don't care because no money in their pockets. . .probably both it sounds

I went around the no double dip restriction by: 1. Trade in my z flip 3 for $800 to buy unlocked 256gb S22 with no activation, which they don't have in stock and has to order. It was then completed with $800 BB gift card generated with trade in and applied toward the purchase. Keep the $0 gift card for future refund. 2. Cancel the order next day at the return desk and ask for the $800 refund to be put back to the $0 gift card. 3. Proceed to the mobile desk again and buy the unlock S22 ultra, and activate with ATT for $799, and use the gift card toward that.
But, didn't you say the S22U was out of stock? Doable and super slick move though!

I ended up trading my Note 20 Ultra for the $800, and signing up for a new T-Mobile account. Final price for the unlocked 256gb S22 Ultra was $48 dollars. It says I have 30 days to cancel the T-Mobile service. Great deal - thanks OP!
If you want to cancel, do it within 3 days and not 30!

Is this deal back again? Can you tell us what the promo code and expiration date is for this deal. It's written on your paperwork. Thanks!

Yeah, slick. I think it was OOS in store and was ordered for store pickup. So he went back to store to cancel and return funds to GC. Slicker would be to order for home delivery, and then cancel and get E-Gift card. Same in the end lol.

I prefer doing ZF3 trades from stores smart enough to produce the GC, but not inclined enough to then order the $899 S22U 256GB rather than at $1299. . .easy out to walk with what I want. Then go to "smarter" store to trade in another old phone and buy the S22U 256GB on sale. . .DD the chip

Huh? You traded the cracked screen one to Best Buy? The find print says specifically no cracked screens
