Your math is correct, but just know that some Best Buy wouldn't know how to process the enhanced trade in value correctly. I suggest you bring a print out showing the $450 trade in value, but even then, there is no guarantee that you'll get it.

I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.

Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.

FYI, you only get these prices if you activate the phone on the big 4 carriers.

When you go in the store to trade in, many of them will have trouble with the trade in value. They'll offer you whatever low amount they would typically give. You'll need to correct them and tell them it's a promo. Show them the webpage on your phone on the BestBuy site (go to any S22 product page and there's a blue heading above the price, click that).

Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.

I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.

1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.

2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.

3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.

Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

So I got more info how the process works...

The Best Buy associate needs to help you do a Standalone Purchase Unlocked S22 Ultra w/ activation with your carrier NOT an Upgrade.

Meanwhile they take your trade in for a Gift Card, apply the "Samsung" promo code to get the promotional trade-in value.

Once the trade-in for the giftcard is complete, they apply the gift card value to your Standalone Purchase, which should come out to 100+taxes, if trading in S21 Ultra or Note 20 Ultra, Z Flip 3 etc.

Thanks to the guys at my local BB, they're all super nice people and super friendly but I get it that YMMV, hope this helps someone, this is a really slick deal guys.

This isn't correct. New line price $799 + 1 month service. Upgrade cost : $849 monthly billing continues, line is immediately available for another upgrade.

So, you added a line on ATT. . .but as you say there is no monthly service fee on that line, or a line to cancel??? Even while waiting for BYOD rebate, or need to cancel it after it arrives?
No i ended up doing this as an upgrade. It's $849 vs $799. But no additional monthly fee to pay.

With a new line is $799 +1 month of service assuming you cancel right after. Now if you do the byod add a line before you go to the store, your monthly fee for starter plan is basically canceled by the credit. There are many different att add A line credits out there so take your pick

Pasadena Best Buy had assholes working at the Mobile section. They are busier than other stores in the area so they think they're all that...
I got the S22+ 128GB from another store for $799. S22+ 256GB is $749. So I went and return an unopened phone there while it was still within 14 days. They denied the return at Mobile. I took it to the regular return and they radio the associate telling them to send me back to Mobile. Once back to Mobile, they wouldn't process it claiming that it was activated with Tmobile so I HAVE TO return it to where I bought it from. I told asked them what's the difference, they said only the original store can process the return (it's BS!) So then I asked them, isn't it the same system which they quietly agree. Then they said I signed the contract with T-mobile so I have to take it back to the original store which I told them No, I did not sign contract. The only agreement anyone sign is to acknowledge Best Buy's return policy. They made it seems like I'm stupid not knowing what a contract is... I studied contract laws. Holy forking shirt balls I wanted to go full Karen on these aholes!!

I drove back to the original store, got in the regular checkout line. The associate didn't even bat an eye seeing it was still sealed with original receipt, processed the return and move on to help the next customer.

Edit: sorry for the rant but heed the advice and avoid Pasadena store to keep your sanity.

I realize that most of the discussion here is in regard to the S22 series like the ULTRA and the "+" BUT has anyone done the trade in for a Z FOLD 3??

I aak as I am about to do it for a S22 ULTRA with a Note 20 ULTRA, HOWEVER, I do like the real estate of the FOLD's screen.

BUT it's $400+ more and not sure it's worth it, as there might be a better deal soon????

So, I guess my question is for anyone doing the trade in, and bought the FOLD 3, was it worth it, or, would you rather have waited for the next deal??

Or, for anyone who has owned the FOLD 3, how do you like it??

Thank you in advance.
I couldn't stand the flip. I wonder what type of people buy fold and for what use.. Are you and artist ??. Just curious

Also if u really need a fold, ppz wait for fold 4..

Thanks. I just deleted my query above and then read your response. I had not done due diligence prior to the post and after just a little reading realized it's not for me...or most anyone without a battery in their pocket!

I have a s10 on Verizon network. I am thinking of going the Verizon route to get the S22 ultra 256gb which would give me $800 for the s10 vs $400 for going unlocked route. I plan on keeping the phone for around 2 years. Is there any reason why it wouldn't be a good choice of going the Verizon route? Also I am confused, by getting the S22 ultra can I get a galaxy watch 4 classic 46mm for $50?

Nope, personally don't care for adding new lines then cancelling them cause I have a lot of free lines from Tmo and you could possibly screw those up when adding/canceling.

Works for new customers if you just want the phone probably but then again the credit hit sucks, and most stores at least around me have no stock of 256gb in any colors so will need to be ordered and you can cancel service in 3 days in which case?

I did it the way mentioned above, had a Z Flip 3 from previous deal and looking to trade it for the S22U 256 which I managed to do while only paying the 100+ taxes difference is a huge win to me.

Just tried it and employee could not process the enhanced trade in. Employee said the system is having issues company wide when he called the support line and they are working on fixing the promo code. Anyone else have this issue today?

Promo code is Samsung. Have them do the trade in after they do the initial order
