Smh I remember people were paying this much just for the 3060 GPU late last year. 😂

edit: I forgot to mention this PC should come with 16gb of ram and a bigger SSD to be a solid deal at this price given the 10th gen CPU imo. It's not terrible i just think HP is still over pricing the 3060 in this build.

Yeah, well, supply and demand is a thing.
True especially when people needed dozens of cards for their basement crypto mining farm.

I must be missing something. Why do you need high end video cards to mine crypto?
Higher end cards can mine coins faster. They're not required but people were willing to pay the higher prices because they could make what the card cost back quickly last year.

That part I get.

That part I don't get since just high-end CPUs will suffice, and they didn't have a shortage. Is there something I'm not aware of that a GPU can do, to mine, that a comparative CPU can't. Honest question.
They didn't have a shortage? Where you been man? GPU's have been in short supply for the last 18 months. We're finally at the point where supply has caught up and mining conditions on ETH are so unfavorable right now that there are no new buyers.

Read carefully. I said there was a shortage in GPUs, and not a shortage in CPUs.

CPU's don't mine anything meanful these days.

Cpus we're fine in the very early days but now the coins popular today are either not made to be minable with cpus, or the CPU is so inefficient mining a coin that the cost of electricity is more than any amount of coin you would earn. Asics are the only thing I know of that mine profitably aside from GPUs .

I need something like this with 16GB Ram with Integrated Graphics instead of the RTX 3060 Discrete card not for gaming.
Look at the Ryzen 7 model from Office Depot for ~550.

I need to look into it further, obviously.

I won't clutter the deal thread anymore. Thanks.
