Yes, it's common for these budget laptops to come with 8GB RAM in order to keep the price low. This should be sufficient for general use.
But it's always flexible and cheaper for the users to upgrade by themselves if needed.
There are several versions of this model being sold on Walmart with more RAM, bigger SSD, and a better Windows. So, I assume that the RAM and SSD can be upgraded... but, can this be taken out of Windows S mode without paying for an upgrade?

P.S. That screen color quality is probably trash based on color coverage specs and brightness, but for a budget large format system probably an acceptable compromise for most.

I agree on the screen. This would be for someone who is currently using a Lenovo T440p with a 14" 1600x900 screen... not sure on the other screen specs though. Probably need to see it in person, as BB sucks for returns.
