Can this be upgraded to 16gb or 32gb

If you're ok with 16gb then select the 5825u option.
For $150 more you get 16gb of dual Ch memory, better CPU, and better GPU.

Getting mine in a couple hours... those are some of the questions I have... I don't have HUGE expectations (esp since its WiFi 5 and 1x1...) but hoping it's not complete trash (internet drops, slow speeds). If so, guess I'll be upgrading the wifi card...

For sure for sure. I was on the same boat but I ultimately decided I didn't need backlit keyboard. I would look into the 5000s series in that case. Again I was definitely aiming for best budget for the money with this laptop. I know the cons are keyboard, wifi card, 8gb ram and maybe even battery/weight but the pros for the money made sense for me
Best budget laptop is the $350 HP from Costco

This PC is better than the Costco one. Better CPU/GPU, more storage, 120Hz screen

For laptops, only thing to really replace/upgrade is RAM. There is an open spot for another SSD drive...

Just got this... I installed 8gb RAM already...
Honestly, it does feel a bit cheap (plastic everything) but plus is that it is lighter because of it.
Overall, performance is great. Laptop display isn't bad (although I'm not using it outside at the moment). Pretty clean overall. NO lag. I didn't even set the display to 60 hz.. still have it on 120 hz and fan is fine. I'm just gonna keep it at 120 hz for better display.

All in all, definitely satisfied for $400.

If you're looking for similar internals in a 14-inch form factor and better build quality (7000 series, mostly metal instead of all plastic on this 3000 series), consider this dealI posted for $517. It's a Yoga-style convertible with 16:10 display, 2x USB-C supporting power delivery and display, and about 40% larger battery.
