I bought the 4 person version of this tent last year and have gone on a bunch of trips already. It's been holding up very well so far. Very tempted to get this bigger one but I usually stay in my tent alone...

edit: my tent is Ozark trail and instant pop up, but it doesn't have the dark rest material or whatever.

But if we're just generalizing wildly, I'd say most people prefer the simplest possible solution.
Well then you should be a big fan of this tent. Remembering to pack your sleep masks along with a tent isn't as simple as just bringing your tent.

Used this tent last weekend with my son. We are camping newbies, and I was able to set it up, and break it down, in five minutes.

The tent withstood the wind well, and it does get pretty dark inside. I'm guessing it has something to do with the material, but I could see it getting pretty toasty in there if you're camping in warm weather.

FYI, I'm about 6 feet tall and could almost stand upright inside the tent.

Anyone know how this compares to Coleman?
I would also like to know how this dark compares to the Coleman dark. Does one get darker than the other? Does one use a thicker material? Etc?

With tents of this kind, I'll stick with tried and true Coleman. Costco has the Coleman 6 person darkroom tent for $99. I like the Coleman design of the rain cover much better.

Edit: Coleman has a full 6' of interior height vs 5'6" on the Ozark.

DUUUUDE.. Are you emperor of the internet or something?! Applause That was brilliant!

Quote from Myst3ryx :
Jesus dude, not sure if you have nothing better to do and just trolling, or just extremely dense...

Have you done much camping? because when I camp with others, MANY people mention waking up early because it starts to get inconveniently bright, and they can't go back to sleep because of it.

Overkill? its only $80 for 6-person instant tent that's just built in... whats overkill about it? The simplest solution would having better light-blocking built in. Not needing to remember to pack another item to make sure you block light if you're sensitive to it

again, simplest solution would be to have better light-blocking built into your tent... and it's not a wild claim, I, along with a few others, simply don't want anything on their face blinding them

Or you could just tell us, since you seem to have so much time, and are getting your panties all up in a bunch over something you have no intention of buying...

They're taking some real liberties categorizing this as a "cabin" tent. It's just a standard 6-person tent.
This is the standard industry term for a tent of this shape. If you want to get particular, "6 person" is a big stretch, no one is packing 6 people in this tent. Just think of it like how a coffee maker calls a cup 6 ounces when a cup is actually 8 ounces. Just accept it as language of the industry and move on.

I've been using Ozark trail tents for years. I abuse the hell out of them, and they usually come back for more. Bought a Coleman last year bc it was on sale, and a pole broke on the 2nd time I used it. I've owned many tents over the years, the one Coleman I own(ed) is the worst of them. Not saying all Coleman tents are bad, but it's certainly not a mark of quality above Ozark Trail. Ozark Trail is at least as good quality IMO, and reviewers seem to agree. The only problem with Ozark Trail is it publicly brands you as a Walmart shopper... LMAO
