The price dropped from the regular reduced price of $99.99 to $79.99. Walmart apparently doesn't price match day-old price changes, btw.

Update: this just arrived today, and it weighs 19.6lbs bagged up.

Dimensions: 42 1/4" x 7 1/2" x 7 1/2"

I've been using Ozark trail tents for years. I abuse the hell out of them, and they usually come back for more. Bought a Coleman last year bc it was on sale, and a pole broke on the 2nd time I used it. I've owned many tents over the years, the one Coleman I own(ed) is the worst of them. Not saying all Coleman tents are bad, but it's certainly not a mark of quality above Ozark Trail. Ozark Trail is at least as good quality IMO, and reviewers seem to agree. The only problem with Ozark Trail is it publicly brands you as a Walmart shopper... LMAO
Most people don't want to wear a mask while they sleep. This is the solution for them.
I have an older version of this. Very worth $80. If you haven't tried it, the dark rest and the "instant" are great. Ozark trail has much improved their quality although any instant tent will tend be less rugged than a tent with old school heavy sectioned poles.

can this be used on a beach ?

no, this one banned from the beach because of the chemicals it's made with.. at least here in California.

I like the concept, but it seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I just wear a sleep mask.

That is not true. Many beaches in California don't allow enclosed tents, aka tents with 4 walls and a roof. Sunshade tents are ok. Has nothing to do with chemicals.

Glad the Ozark tent is working well. A broken pole is a easy replacement and Coleman is quick to send a new one. I snapped a fiberglass pole when someone stepped on the bag and even though the tent was 6+ years old, Coleman sent me one no charge.

I love this tent for my kids. It helps them not wake up as early when camping. Great deal!

I have the 10x14 version of this tent. We love it! It easily sleeps my family of 5 on 4 air mattresses with room to spare. The dark rest feature is really nice. Of course being a tent this size it's pretty heavy and takes up a lot of room even in the carry case. The first thing I did was seal the seams with seam grip and waterproof it with camp dry. We used this tent on a road trip out west last summer, setup and packing up was very quick and easy. It survived a very nasty thunderstorm in the Badlands of Montana - we're talking 60+ mph wind gusts and sideways rain. We did end up with rain inside the tent, but it was from rain getting blown underneath the rainfly and into the tent. I thought for sure our trip would be over after that wind, but there was no damage to the tent the next morning. Very impressed!

This was the other one I was eyeing. Since our situation only requires a tent for two, we went with the slightly more portable one.

Great deal, compare to Walmarts Ozark 6-Person tent at $99.99. I would go with Coleman

I don't have this model, mine isn't a blackout tent but is otherwise the same size. If you don't need to store gear inside the tent, you'll be fine. If you want to keep backpacks, gear, etc inside, it'll be pretty tight but possible. I usually use this for 2 people with a queen sized air mattress when car camping or at a festival, it has just enough room to also store our gear/bags without tripping over it.

Anything to keep the kids from waking up at 5AM and a mask is not the solution for a 5 and 7yo. These things are amazingly dark inside. One downfall is that to provide ventilation the top or some of the windows have to be cracked thus allowing in light. With everything shut it's like being in a light deprivation chamber.

I have this (OOS) but the Ozarks are similar

I want to put in two queen air mattresses for 2 adults and 2 kids. This one seems to be a tight fit.

Is the 8-person a better option since there will be some room between two queen mattresses.

We have the large 20'x10' 12 person version of this tent for family "glamping" and I LOVE it! Can comfortably fit three queen air mattresses for six people and still have space to spare (we are a family of four and leave the center empty for organizing and moving around. The "Dark Rest" is superb as it allows my kids to sleep early when others are still up with lights shining and is especially useful in the summer when the sun hits at 4 AM we can still easily sleep until 8 AM. Tons of windows keeps these breezy and cool throughout the daytime. Ventilation is great, no build-up of moisture overnight and yet it's easy to seal up for cooler off-season camping (but not good for winter camping). Height isn't an issue, I'm 5'10" and there's still way more height available. Set-up is fast but needs two people for our larger tent, takes maybe 10 minutes. BUT sometimes the poles get locked in a weird direction and takes some figuring out to untangle. Folding up is FAST, one person can do it and it takes well less than 10 minutes. I have this matched to a 13'x13' Coleman pop up canopy that matches well since the tent doesn't have an awning.

Negatives are that there is no matched tarp to protect the bottom and the rain fly only covers the tent (no awning). Because of the Dark Rest, you definitely need lighting inside which you'll have to provide as there is none included. Oh and it's heavy and bulky at roughly 50 lbs, so definitely best for glamping.

Ultimately, I have not found any tent as easy and fast to set up that is this large and includes the Dark Rest feature. Get the largest one and you'll be very happy you did!
I have an older version of the 20x12 and have a tarp the perfect size for it to go underneath. It was around 10 years ago so I don't remember where I got it, but I'm pretty sure it was also 20x10 and fit perfect to where I had to roll the corners under the tent. Look around they're out there.

It's funny because I have that huge tent and it's usually just me and my wife and it's about as big as a bedroom.

How does the rain fly work on this? Doesn't look like it covers or overhangs the windows or door
