Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Bought mine a while ago and if you have pets it's honestly one of the best things you can buy for non leather furniture.

I have a different Bissel unit from Costco so I can't review this specific one, but I will agree with this statement. I used to haul a full size carpet cleaner out the garage to treat inevitable pet messes. This made every accident many times worse as they're so heavy and clunky. Getting a spot cleaner made a huge difference - now I have a lightweight unit I can store almost anywhere and occasional pet messes are gone in just a couple of minutes.

If you have a cat or dog and carpet, I would highly recommend.

I have the full size green machine and this. Both of them are great. This is great for spot cleaning when it is too much work to pull out the big one

I wanted to add that I have 2 Bissell clean machines (the mini ones). One is an older (when they were light green in color) Little Green machine, and the other is one of those fancier Bissell higher performance ones. Well, I bought the Little Green machine as a refurb, and the thing is still running strong... while the much newer and more expensive one (that I bought new) had the pickup hose/tube break (turns out to be a very common problem - unfortunately).

Also, the Little Green cleaner was actually rated in some published contest as the highest recommended choice. So, you CAN get a more sophisticated looking portable clean machine for more money, but this one works well and is probably the most reliable style you'll find... which is why Bissell seems to be still making what is essentially the same style machine for what must be, what, over 20 years now?

I have this and it's great BUT it does leak quite a bit. Especially from the clean water reservoir, which I guess on the bright side, is probably the best considering the alternative.

I have 5 pets and it's great for them, but if you have a cloth interior in your car....it's an AMAZING detail tool.

Like others, I have a different portable Bissell and it has been fantastic for cat messes.

I've had the same experience with this unit. Frustrating but at least it's not from the dirty side

What's the most efficient way to dump the dirty water afterward? I've mistakenly just dumped it straight down either the sink or toilet, but with dog hairs and sand in the mix, it may eventually cause pipes to clog. Is there a type of strainer you can attach to the toilet or sink to use? Ideally, fine enough where sand won't go down the drain either.

I got this couple months ago and works great for my rugs. carpets and even my couch.

For the leaking issue, I found that after you put in the water, make sure to close it tight and turn it upside down for a couple of seconds in the sink. Once no more water is coming out, put it in the machine.

I own this, and while it's amazing for pet accidents, it stinks of mildew if I don't REALLY clean it out after each use by evacuating all the water from the spray line and cleaning out the vacuum hose with clean water and then removing as much water as possible from the hose.

Also, the brush head cannot be taken apart, so over time, it's gotten really gross. Stupid design, in my opinion.

For just spots or can you do all the upholstery?

Really tempted, but the recurring reviews and comments about it leaking are scaring me off.

Is it really a problem? Are there other Bissell models that don't have the leaking issue?
