Activated an iPhone 3G when i saw this thread - no offer so far, so I chatted up T-force today on Facebook.

Your account does not currently qualify for this promo. This promo requires a preselection alert that you do not have. The preselection occurred on 6/9 and we hope to see further preselection on a weekly basis. You had to be using your trade in device on one of your lines on 6/9 to be preselected. Keep using the 3G on XXXX and you should get that preselection memo in the coming weeks"

I will keep the 3G on the line to see if they actually do make more folks eligible....
That would make sense... that's why some people got alerts a few days after they put their SIM cards into 3g phone. Just got by 4s today and I'm going to slap one of those "line on us" sims into it for a few days and see if I get the alert...

Ugh. I hope this doesn't mean they pulled the plug on the promo. My 5c is arriving today...
Looks like the promo is still in their system, but it might get pulled off from many accounts. It showed up in my account for several days and was gone last night.

For those calling in to do the promo who want something in writing to reference later if necessary, I just did this:

After calling 611 and finally finding a rep to do the P038 deal and place the order, I still felt uneasy about having nothing in writing to support my purchase per this promo. So I decided to chat in the app to generate some kind of written record.

I used the excuse that I was "requesting my order number and the EIP agreement specifically tied to the iPhone SE 3 that I just purchased per the P038 promo in which I will be trading in my currently active iPhone 4 for $430 in credits." I asked the chat rep to email it to me.

She provided my order number in the chat, and then sent the EIP agreement via email, acknowledging via chat that it was for the order using the P038 promo that the call rep had referenced in my account.

I took screenshots on my phone of the chat.

I feel much better now having at least some documentation to later reference if T-Mobile screws this up, rather than just having a verbal defense that a "T-Mobile call-rep said I was eligible for this promo during a 611 call."

Good job. Do you see the credit under your eip agreement at this point?

Do you mean in the actual eip agreement document itself? No, there is no promotional credit shown in the eip document that I signed.

But if I recall correctly from past experience, I think the eip agreements that I have signed previously never had the promotional credits listed in those documents.

The actual credits would automatically show up in my account two bill cycles later along with the name of the associated promo.

No, not in the eip agreements. But under your billing and device agreement section once you login into the TMobile website. You should be able to see the mentioning of the offer code under that eip agreement.

In the past I remember you get the promo text once the phone ships, at least with my last handful of EIP promos

If I click in my account on "View device payment plans" it does not load, just see the spinning circle of being in internet limbo. Same in the app. I guess I will try later.

Interesting. Did you do the trade in at the store and that's why it shows device trade in accepted?

I did the deal by calling 611 a few hours ago. I have not traded in my iPhone 4 yet. In fact, it is still at home on the charger, LOL.

Maybe it just means that the trade-in offer was accepted as far as it being an eligible device for this promo. So perhaps has nothing to do with the actual trade-in device being approved and accepted. I am just guessing, I don't really know.

I did get a text stating that "A quote of $0 was accepted for your Apple iPhone 4 with serial number xxxxxxxx. Please return your trade-in device to a retail store or send within 30 days..."

Up until 2 days ago, I saw the offer in my t-mobile account. But today, the offer for iPhone SE is gone. No more "$430 credit with trade-in of eligible device". Just "up to $400 with trade-in some expensive phone". Oh well...

Same here, when I login today I no longer see my iPhone 3GS listed under phones eligible for $430 trade-in value, only under $100 now. Only iphone 12 mini+ seems to be eligible for a $400 trade value.

This is a very stupid question but, what do they do with these devices that are being trade in?
