Guys, if you do not see anything, my suggestion is to call T-Mobile and ask if you are eligible for offer P038.

I didnt actually activate the old iPhone on the line I upgraded. I got the imei from ebay seller first. When I do the upgrade, I select trade-in other device. at the end I see the $430 credit for iPhone 4s. Hopefully it works out.
I did the same. but I had the phone sitting in drawer. Currently using a Pixel 3a. I looked everywhere and couldn't see anywhere that said the trade in must be active on the line.

It's not a requirement on anything I've read either.

I did but they would not take it. They asked for the charging cable, they said they needed to connect phone to one of their computers to pull some data from it, I didn't have it with me and was in no mood to argue after a 15 min drive and 40 min wait time. (used to be able to schedule appointment on line but I did not see that option before making the trip to store).

They printed a return label for me and told me to return by mail.

I called 611 the next day and they apologized for them and noted account, they confirmed they should not require cable for return of trade in so I went ahead and returned by mail.
Yeah some store employees just want to run the show. They are uninformed that customers can actually tradein in store, I went to 2x stores that were outright refused saying we don't do this and 3rd store had some issues but called cs to take care of it. I complained to cs and got apologies and $50 credit lol

i can see the $430 too from shop page regardless which line i use to upgrade, however, tforce rep said only 1 line qualifies. so hes wrong ?

i have 1 line thats been using 5s phone for few months. and i do have spare iphone 3gs, 4, 5 sitting around that i can trade in. i used iphoen 5 on the line that i wanted the promo on, account page is already showing the line is using iphone 5. however, tforce was able to tell iphone 5 wasnt on the line before, thus, it didnt qualify yet. so i have the line on iphone 5 past 2 days already see if i could a text for the promo
Just do it, as long as it allows you with proper promo pull the trigger, I got a few in via rep and all are showing properly. Let them sort it out after the fact.

I called it in and had a rep assist me with ordering an iphone 13 pro max. She waived the $35 upgrade assist fee without me even asking, which was extremely nice of her. It's already showing up on my account as a $35 billing credit.

I posted pretty early on in this thread that a phone rep helped me get the deal, and I was wondering why my phone was $399. I thought perhaps $30 of the $430 trade was applied to the purchase price.

The rep ordered me a *second gen* SE that's why it's $399 Mad

The EIP is already all setup in my account, with the credits showing. I haven't sent in the 5s to trade yet. Do you guys know how, how big of a PITA, and whether it's even possible, to redo this order to get the 3rd gen SE?

Call or tforce, should not be too complicated, if they comply, return device then, new order, you can request to return in store and waive or credit back restock fee to account, just say the rep ordered wrong phone wrong discount

go to your acct and look for order status on top. you can print the label there. for me I have to contact them to get it due to nothing shows up on my order status.
Thanks, that's exactly where I found it! You rock! I think I'll drop it off at a store for immediate approval instead of mailing it.

Would you please DM me which ebay seller who would provide the IMEI first?

I learned a lot from reading all these posts.
I have an iPhone 5 on my talk and text line. Denied upgrade by T-Force on Twitter and by the "Experts" in Albuquerque call center. Both said, not b/c of the plan, but b/c I was not pre-selected which would have included the email notice.

Pretty frustrated until I read here a couple of days ago to use the chat feature on the app. Got an agent in the Philippines who pushed everything thru, but it did take the better part of an hour. He did not even mention the email notice thing. Just said that I qualified b/c I had the correct phone handset on the account and the P038 was for people like me. (Also waived the $35 fee, so only paid tax).

I also took screen shots of chat, but it appears that things will go thru as promised.

The only hurdle now is to see if they receive the phone I send back (pristine condition) and don't some how reject it. Since this thread is just about a week old we have not had a chance to hear back from anyone whose submitted old phones are accepted or not. Waiting....................................

So none of your lines has a 3G-based iPhone attached and the offer still shows up?

I have a spare line and took its sim card and plopped it into an iPhone 5s and no dice. But then again the unlocked iPhone 5s I have has LTE so not sure if it qualifies, even though original OP says it qualifies
This is correct. I think eligibility is decided months ago. I tried to mimic others with my T-Mobile prepaid accounts and that didn't fly either.

These promos if done correctly, u get a low trade in value... this one would be zero, and the $430 is credited as bill credits over 24 months....
