Guys, if you do not see anything, my suggestion is to call T-Mobile and ask if you are eligible for offer P038.

I learned a lot from reading all these posts.
I have an iPhone 5 on my talk and text line. Denied upgrade by T-Force on Twitter and by the "Experts" in Albuquerque call center. Both said, not b/c of the plan, but b/c I was not pre-selected which would have included the email notice.

Pretty frustrated until I read here a couple of days ago to use the chat feature on the app. Got an agent in the Philippines who pushed everything thru, but it did take the better part of an hour. He did not even mention the email notice thing. Just said that I qualified b/c I had the correct phone handset on the account and the P038 was for people like me. (Also waived the $35 fee, so only paid tax).

I also took screen shots of chat, but it appears that things will go thru as promised.

The only hurdle now is to see if they receive the phone I send back (pristine condition) and don't some how reject it. Since this thread is just about a week old we have not had a chance to hear back from anyone whose submitted old phones are accepted or not. Waiting....................................
Same here, but I got burned in the past by Philippine reps who claimed I was eligible for promos (but wasn't) before but didn't have a chat to back me up. This time I have screenshots that reiterates the bill credit multiple times.

This is correct. I think eligibility is decided months ago. I tried to mimic others with my T-Mobile prepaid accounts and that didn't fly either.
Yes, mine never showed the promo either. I purchased and put a sim into a 5c.

A while back, Tmo had a similar type of deal that only worked on old phones that were active during a window that closed a month or so before the promo was announced. Basically what they wanted to do is to entice people with old phones to update, and NOT what some of us (including myself) are trying to do by buying a cheap used old iPhone to take advantage of his promo. If i remember correctly, the IMEI of the device had to have been used in your account within the past year or two.

I think this promo is very similar to that, but not well specified (thus some of us are having luck with the rep through chat).

Opted for the iPhone 11 instead of the SE and paid a little more, hoping that will have a better trade in value than the SE in the future and my daughter really doesn't like the small SE screen.

The 11 is not a bad choice for those who prefer a bigger screen than the SE 3, although the processor is slower and some other features are getting old in the tooth on the 11 compared to the SE 3.

Also, iPhone 11 is $70 more in this deal, plus you will be paying a bit more tax, so that needs to be considered too when comparing actual end costs.

As for TIV, it is always a crapshoot with older model phones when trying to predict TIV, so it will all depend on the future deal to see under which tier the 11 falls. Seems like the 11 is nearing the point where it may begin dropping into the lower tier TIVs, so that is a bit of a gamble as it might not rake in a higher TIV when traded as expected.

On the other hand, trade in values usually suck on the SE models compared to the non-SE iPhones. But this one being nearly free from the outset puts it a step ahead of the game, so receiving almost any reasonable TIV for it would be a win in the future.

I bought the SE 3 because I walk/jog outside and wanted a small iPhone to carry, and I wanted a physical home button, which I prefer when working out. If I really wanted a full size iPhone, I would have just ponied up the extra cash for the 13 since this deal is basically $430 off a new one and the balance can be paid off in 24 monthly installments.

But I understand it is for your daughter, so the 11 is probably a great choice for the price when all is said and done. And most importantly, I am sure she will enjoy it and appreciate having such a thoughtful dad to buy one for her.

Yeah it ended up $75 more. I was gonna get her the 13 but didn't wanna spend too much since she's only 11. I wish I had a phone as nice as the 11 when I was at that age haha.

I'm showing my age by acknowledging that there were no mobile phones when I was 11. I laugh when I imagine what my parents would think seeing people today carrying phones everywhere as if these devices are the most important thing in their lives.

When are the agents from Philippines on or when did you chat?
Remember they are 12 or so hours ahead of us, and it was 4pm Pacific time. Usually their call centers answer our chat just about any time of day or night.

Has everyone who dropped off their trade devices at a T-Mobile store had a smooth process trading in their phones at a store rather than mailing them?

I mentioned to a T-Force rep that I was planning on dropping off my iPhone 4 at a local T-Mobile store tomorrow, and she made it seem like mailing it was a better option.

She implied that the T-Mobile store employees tend to often mess things up. Maybe in her job she just sees all of the screw-ups and has to help fix them, so that is her perspective.

She said if I decide to drop it off at a store, I should make sure to choose a T-Mobile corporate store. Just wondering now if I should go that route or just mail it as usual.

You should call your store and make sure they accept trade-in drop offs before driving there. A lot of stores still won't do it. Even the corporate ones.

FYI, I placed the order for the iphone SE3 on the 16th, and I found that someone added Protection360 on the 17th. Make sure they're not trying to pull a fast one on you. I went in and took it off...

How long does it take for my account to show my trade-in has been received? I severe brain-farted and forgot to put the RMA in. Support claims it doesn't matter because it's linked by shipping label, but we'll see.

For all of you folks ordered because of the t-mobile chat rep's promise, you will definitely have to fight for the credit after the facts. I had to call in for another issue after placing my order (I put in the wrong specs for the trade-in device) and the corporate rep confirmed that my account was not eligible for the promo code despite reading through the chat transcript where the Filipino rep insisted that I was eligible, she even brought it up to her supervisor. Long story short, I decided to cancel the order to avoid the hassle but YMMV if you would like to wait until after the facts and fight.

This morning found an old 5C in a drawer and put SIM card in. The offer is not showing on my T-Mobile homepage and the overseas phone reps can't find it. Maybe I need to wait a day or two for the system to recognize the 5C? Otherwise looks like deal is dead.

You get better support from Tmobile over twitter/facebook. Try that. As an added bonus you have a "paper trail" of what you were promised.
