I mentioned to a T-Force rep that I was planning on dropping off my iPhone 4 at a local T-Mobile store tomorrow, and she made it seem like mailing it was a better option.
She implied that the T-Mobile store employees tend to often mess things up. Maybe in her job she just sees all of the screw-ups and has to help fix them, so that is her perspective.
She said if I decide to drop it off at a store, I should make sure to choose a T-Mobile corporate store. Just wondering now if I should go that route or just mail it as usual.
1st- no clue said we don't take tradeins here …okay,
2nd- struggled to find how to do it, when we got to the final stage screen nazi manager came over said physical damage okay…scratched her out fast
3rd- directed them on where to go otherwise they were unfamiliar but in and out in 5 mins
So you have to tell them to use the "DASH" system it's relatively new once they pull it up there will be a place to type order number, give them the order number your phone shipped with and within that your tradein device is already populated they will have to scroll up and down to find it but once they do it's just a matter of checking off a few inspection questions and they will print the receipt for you and PDF will also show up on your account documents.
You should def. drop off at store especially if there are few nearby, it will make it easier for next time for you and others. I would always choose I store now that I know which store to go to it alleviates shipping nonsense and warehouse rejection. Def go corporate.
Worst case scenario return within 14 days and chalk it up to misinformation from rep., worth a shot and no restock fees. I wouldn't hesitate to take take a shot as it's a great deal especially if you have 0% financing

And yes, obviously T-Mobile is not just going to hand out $430 credits for iPhones without requiring some some type of service commitment, otherwise all of us SDers would clean out their inventory within hours if there were no such requirements to upgrade. LOL.
