Great price but I am not a fan of this flavor/roast. I like the crema ones a lot better. But if this flavor speaks to you, price is worth it.
i've blended these (lavazza) beans with starbucks french roast beans in 50-50 ratio to resolve the issue you mention with good results for espresso.
I bought this last time it was on sale. It was close to the expiration date and the coffee flavor was terrible.

Same here. I like Super Crema and Gold but haven't seen them on sale for a while. Anyone have any other recommendation to try out? I like bold but not bitter and acidic tastes. Illy was ok but too expensive. I think we tried out many that are readily available from stores but they were usually bitter and no character.
