I've read reviews that seem to go both ways on the screen. Unfortunately, Acer's website doesn't list the screen specifics which could mean they can use multiple screens depending on what's available. Anyone know if the 99% sRGB, 400 nits screen can be confirmed outside of a couple review sites?

Predator Helios always comes with this display for last 2 generation. The brightness and exact color gamut may differ by 5 to 10% at most but that's true for every laptops as no two panels, even from same model, are same. You can check reviews of Helios 300bfir last two to three generations and will find they use this similar 144Hz panel.
Acer Nitro 5 series has multiple panel options, one is the lower end 250 nits 65% sRGB 144hz panel, another is this same panel and now they're having a QHD 165hz 300-350 nits panel since 2021.
How is it? Thinking about getting it for my girl just iffy about acer
I'm waiting for it to be delivered today as it required a signature & I missed it yesterday. I can let you know after I get it.
There's a lot of deals popping up, so if you are iffy, may as well wait for one you're more sure about. I was just tired of researching and checking deals all the time, ha.
almost any other 3060 loaptop would be a better choice for around this price
ACER really needs to update the HELIOS 300 chasis, it has not aged well with the RTX3XXX GPUs
I owned the i7 9750h/rtx2060 version and now own this one (ph315-54) - the updated fan blades did a good job at offsetting the temps. It does get hot under full AAA gaming, but it has no issues with thermal throttling (that ive seen yet.)
My Razer Blade 15 on the other hand... would shut off after 30 mins in mine craft.. that chassis did not age well
On a plus note, the new 12th gen helios 300 has a newer chassis.
To be honest, this price is normal.. I paid $1100 for mine like 8 months ago.

initially the TGP of the GPU was 80W-100W but that has been increased via firmware update to 95W and with 105W including Dynamic Boost.
